Can I leave ears unposted for a week?

Hello!

My doberman, 14 weeks old, has had the posting for a few weeks now. Yesterday when I took off the tape, i noticed bumpy dark yellowish skin on the back of one of his ears. I cleaned it with alcohol wipes and put neosporin on it. The end of the posting stick inside his ear had a little bit of brown goop on it. Cleaned the insides of his ears too.
Im wondering if I can leave the ears unposted for 7-9 days so that it can fully heal without risking his ears not standing.
Any help would be appreciated. Here is a picture

No, I wouldn't. That's normal hair loss and if you use baby powder on the hair side and adhesive remover to remove the tape, you won't have the hair loss.
A little big of brown gunk at the bottom of the post is normal as well so just clean the ears and get the posts right back in within an hour.

If you zoom into the picture, there are little dark yellowish bumps, that was my main concern and we saw a little bit of bleeding when taking the post off as well.

👆👆👆 This was what I was just going to ask. You shouldn't be pulling hair out if you use this or something similar. I just happened to love this one. It works well and it smells great.20240918_160150.webp

I will start using it.
Im worried about the yellowish bumps. They had a bit of moisture when I took off the tapes.
Do you happen to know what it is and if I should not post until its healed?

That doesn't look like anything to worry about so I would keep posting. You're starting to get to a critical time and not posting would set you back a lot.

Keep posting and do what the members stated above using adhesive remover to take off the tape without pulling out hair and irritating the skin.

Be mindful to not wrap the ears too tight. Backtape backerrod, put in ear and somewhat loosely wrap the ears to keep backerrod secure. Then squeeze the tape onto the ears to make it stick and anchor.

Good luck.
