My Dobe is fine with chickens, was raised with a cat in the house, so was told "leave it" a LOT. As puppies they don't know the commands of course, but that's what the leash is for LOL. Anyway, she learned that the chickens were in the same category - no playing or chasing. Ours were free range so we walked through them a lot while on leash as a puppy. When she was off leash around them the first few times she would go flying through them making them squawk and flap, but she never chased one. She eventually stopped doing that, probably by a year old, but I was always ready with a ball or tug to distract her if she did something untoward. Now (almost 2 1/2) the chickens mean absolutely nothing to her.
Yes, when eggs are plentiful I feed a whole raw egg, shell and all about 3 - 4 times a week. Your puppy might like a scrambled egg to start out.

Chick catalogs are out!!! I need some more girls because I let a hen hatch eggs and now I have two roosters, so I need more ladies! (Not as many as I'm going to end up buying but... chicken math lol!).
Also... all I want to do is clean the poop from my coop. But it's all frozen! I just need a little bit of a thaw!!!

My friend did the same thing and ended up with two roosters. They had to get rid of them because they were fighting all the time! Practically destroying each other and stressing out the hens.
She said she'll never do that again. Next time it will be a sexed chick if she wants any more hens. ☺I also feed raw eggs to the dog(s). And I get mine fresh from my neighbor!

Lost one of my roosters last night. RIP Chickie baby! (Thought he was a girl at first lol). I was freaking out about avian flu though- it's back and there's a case confirmed in my state. Called my state ag office and they said to keep an eye on my other chickens, but if they don't get sick in the next day or so, I'm probably okay.
Was he sick for a while before dying? I found through basic necropsy (if you're up to that kind of thing) - two of my hens died due to "hardware disease". One had a roofing nail in her gizzard and another one some kind of metal that I couldn't identify. Even though I'm a curious science-y kind of person, two of these investigations was enough for me. I've kind of decided that if one chicken gets ADR (ain't doing right), but all the others stay healthy, it's probably not a flock disease.

Our village (population 44,000; village makes it sound small!) just passed regulations to allow backyard chickens! They're only allowing 50 permits at any given time though... Probably not in our immediate scope but very interested to see what people come up with!
We recently purchased some property, 5 acres with a house that needs a bit of work and a really nice pond. I've been out there a LOT of late and met a neighbor to the east of us. They raise chickens

No, it was a super sudden thing! I thought about doing a DIY necropsy but I was kind of worried about avian flu (even though it's suuuuper rare for humans to contract, but I can easily psych myself out lol!). My other birds are a good though, so I think it definitely wasn't avian flu now.

We have two Blue Laced Red Wyandottes. They breed like our Ameraucanas where they come in Blue Black and Splash (BBS) variety and those 3 breed true to each other. We have a blue and a splash. Then there are also Blacks in their own variety, the Golden Laced like you are getting, without the BBS genetics. Absolutely love them both, such great friendly personalities! I will probably work up to free ranging. The time I have spent out there I have seen several predators that will make it challanging for me to give it a go.

We lucked out. The neighbor next door has a really nice piece of property. Unfortunately for him he is much older and he's going to live with his son. There is about 5 acres cleared and the rest is all woods. We are excited about our next chapter!Wow, that's awesome!!!
