That's too bad but Drake was just doing what comes naturally.
Omigod, that had to be startling! Landing on your head! I'm surprised the dogs didn't hear it first as it was moving about the house. Remember the bat we had in our bedroom? I'll never forget it was Kali who saw it first and her little head was going 'round and 'round with the bat as he flew around the dark room. When he went past the TV I thought I was seeing things! 
The birds are a plenty here too! Every morning they are chatting up a storm. I took some video recently of the sounds and also of Kali chasing them but I haven't had a chance to post it. Spring is here and they are happy! lol

I think the bird was scared and just hanging out on the curtain rod. When I went to bed I thought I saw some kind of movement in the window. I looked up for a minute but didn't see anything. Drake was really restless and kept jumping up but I thought it was because hubby was still up. Next time I'll get up and turn on the light.
Oh wow that's a fluke if I ever saw one.
As long as I'm here I might as well post a couple recent ones.
I don't think someone is too happy with this weather.
But it sits under the suet and waits for other birds to drop pieces. I saw it trying to get on the feeder but it couldn't figure out how.
That is so damn cute!!
Beautiful! They stay here for about a week, then move on so I gave up on putting a feeder out for them. I just stick some orange slices out there for the time they are here.
I have a dog show friend who lives somewhat south of here in Minnesota and she said her Hummingbirds are already back. I better get some nectar made up pretty soon.
The Flicker's just showed up about a week or two ago.
And the Mourning Doves haven't been real happy with the weather.
Yeah I know the Orioles are not here that long either. But I don't know when they leave. I just notice one day that they're gone LOL I've put out orange pieces too and it's amazing how they go after them. But I thought I would try the feeder a couple of years ago. The first year I don't think I noticed anyone feeding from it and thought it may be a lost cause. Last year I just put out the orange pieces and they loved them! But this year I thought I would try it again before they even arrived. So I was tickled pink that I saw one sitting on it!
We've actually seen very brief sightings of the hummingbird's so I think they are here already. Someone told me that they also would feed at that Baltimore feeder. Is that true? I'll have to keep an eye out.

I've never seen the hummers go to the oriole feeder, but the orioles do go to the hummingbird feeder.
This one has been visiting a few times a week for a long time. He hangs out in my front flower garden and driveway. I have named him Largo.
This guy was hanging out in the Gumbo Limbo tree by my porch aviary. Taken about a month ago.
Is that some sort of hawk?
We're just starting to see the Gold Finches again the past few days.
and they do this from morning til night.
I guess if I had to listen to that ALL DAY, it might be annoying! LOL! And yet I always find their color so beautiful! At least they come and go!

Oh! And @JanS I saw a hummingbird at my Oriole feeder!!! I was so excited but by the time I ran to the other end of the house for my camera, he was gone!! Dammit! Now I have my camera in the kitchen so I hope to catch him again!
It was right around dusk that he came out. I'll catch him yet! 
You just had to, didn't you? LOL They're still driving me insane and I bet there are about 25 (if not more) of them in the yard all the time. They're chasing all of the nice songbirds away from the feeders and gulping suet down faster than all of the other birds would do in a month.
Mr. Oriole showed up here this morning too.

I think you have more of the Blue Jays because of all the woods around you. I notice them more on the other side of the house in our woods. Just yesterday I was thinking of you as I heard a bunch of screeching going on and saw several together by the woods. Carrying on and making noise! They'll come over to the feeders but we are on that side of the house more and so are the dogs so they get scared away more and fly further when scared. A lot of the other birds just fly to the honey locust trees and wait us out! lol Smarty pants!
But every year that the trees get bigger and the evergreen get taller, we seem to see more and more birds. It's such a difference from when we first moved here and had nothing much planted outside by the feeders. With no place to quickly go, its a bit scarier for them. Now, wow, my neighbors evergreens and pines are huge! And so it the ones we planted! There are birds living in them all the time. Everything is getting so grown! And that brings the birds.
