Alternative treatments for CVI

We adopted Odin on Saturday from clatsop county humane society. He was diagnosed with a mild form of CVI and has some instability in his rear end. Over the past week it looks like it has actually improved a little, although this may be wishful thinking on my part.

We are interested in any alternative treatments and would like feed back on what has worked for members who have or have had a dog with CVI. Our local vet has an acupuncture specialist on staff and also a physical therapist. I am also interested in Chiro and joint supplements. If there are any brands that have worked well for you guys please let me know.

We were at the vet today and there is another Dobie lady there that just adopted a 2 year old female from the local shelter. I saw her online on Sunday and considered running over to get her, but thought better of it since we just brought Odin home. I am so happy to hear that she was adopted by someone who has had the breed before :).

Did you read my suggestions on your original thread. i shared about chiropractic and accupuncture. It is more than worth getting a chiro's opinion.

I did, and thank you. It's going to take some searching to find a local chiro. I'm about an hour and a half south of Portland where I know a great chiro... it would be worth the drive though :)

I don't have any experience with it, but it really does sound like the chiro or acupuncture would be a good place to start. Let us know how it goes! :)
