Well it is animal and Doberman abuse to have board working Doberman sitting by the pool or hanging by Mercedes-Benz while the owner is away travelling or at work all the time!
This is standard in military and working world so don't play the guilt or small violin ain't working here.
The crate will be kernel so It is a big crate eventually when the dog ready.
Most world title working dogs are attack owners partners. My trainer had a real championship blood line when he was travelling even could not leave the dog with the wife.
God I don't know why I am still member here.
If Audrey dose not do IPO these days she barks at trees jumps breaks the branches and play thug war with them.
She training 3 hours day if I wouldn't that's animal abuse!

I was in the military and was around military dogs on my deployments.

If a dog is left home alone in a crate while the owner travels then yeah that’s abuse. Crating it during the workday is not abuse.

You’re planning to cage an animal unless training, not allow it to socialize with other animals or humans. Do that to yourself and see if you don’t go insanse.

As far as you being a member, you post things and get others opinions on it then get mad. Being upset because others don’t agree with you is redicilous. At the end of the day you can do what you want, but it doesn’t make you right.

Ok now they are some miss understandings here.
No my new dogs do not socialize with any other animals minus inside the farm. My other dogs a horse or two and immediate family members.
I am aware what they do in your military or police forces but I am not a fan actually and they have big failure results as we both know.

No.method is perfect anyways and no the dog will not be crated all the time is free in the farm all day and yes means it is working but since they no visitors can chill in the shade! I be with the dogs all the time, 80% of the week actually like Doberman breed bred and meant to and yes a crated dog specially working dog specially Doberman when u at work most time is animal abuse to me.
I added this to Audrey routine I have visitor I don't want her to social she goes to crate one stage in a year or two she come out of crate when helper visits to bite then replaced by un wanted visitor.

Did the teen sitting behind the bush trigger the attack? Why dog was off leash initially? Shouldnt the officer give heel command after drop or off? Strange handler for such a dog! Why not put the muzzle after first realase. Weird.... The dog was nervous barking actually to me. They call this dog fit! Lol

If you want a good working dog, then you will definitely want to buy from a reputable working breeder... Check UDCs breeder referral. Maybe @Doberman Gang can point you towards some that he knows. Breeder that breeds for what you want to do first, gender 2nd, color be flexible on typically. No decent breeder will be selling for melanism or albinism.

Cool. You pulled a video off the internet where something doesnt match everyone else's argument and is supposed to support yours. Dime a dozen. I agree with @Antman408; you propose a scenario and when people don't agree (at all, even in the slightest) you get upset and think there is something wrong with our logic and the forum as a whole.

All black Dobes are not what reputable breeders breed for. Even if you decide on Malinois, you will end with a BYB because you don't want to spend money. Supporting a BYB practice is putting dogs in shelters.

As for not socializing a Doberman except with immediate family: I don't see anything wrong with that in and of itself. However, I would not make the dog spend too much time in a crate.

I did not socialize my first Dobe except with my few friends. I did this because I did not have the money to train him in personal protection. Due to my approach, he would by default act aggressively toward strangers. He would accept a stranger if I gave the command to. I think this was a decent approach with him because I believe he did not have what it took to succeed at real protection training.

BUT: It was so very stressful making sure he would not bite (nip) someone when I had him out in public. At the same time though, we succeeded at AKC obedience through the CDX level (the trials stressed him out so much I retired him even though he knew all of the UD exercises as well!).

Well one more I see these people do hikes and bike rides with thir dobis and swimming I did same with audrry she didn't eat unit back to IPO and IPO games. Hours of swim and hike not interested asking for work. I don't know guys however she is sharing tone with me tonight and ain't her birthday . Night!

While I like the look of all-black Dobes, I would not buy from a breeder who breeds for color. I do understand and empathize with you, though, on not having money to buy from a "good breeder." My first Dobe was $300 (believe it or not, he was my best overall Dobe yet!) My last two Dobes have been up there in price because I am now married to someone with a decent career.

You shared what you feed. My dogs get RAW chicken. (neck, back, leg quarters) NEVER cooked bones. Young puppies are fed ground whole chicken (yes with bones, but very fine grind).
