HA!...Y'all know I'll be using all of these "plays on Jax's name" tomorrow!!..My kids will try to think of more!!...and I'll give them extra credit for the "good ones!"
I think they might have the impression that I'm obsessed with my boy!...WTF? Why might they think that?? Maybe the "Cracker Jax" bulletin board??..
Every single class period, someone walks in the door and says, "How's Jax?" They know that for at least five to ten minutes Spanish won't be spoken...I'm gonna trick it up tomorrow and make them ask their Jax questions in Spanish!!
In reality, our high school is stressing having kids "just write" in every class, and my principal really stressed that we need writing samples (even in math), so they can write about what's on their minds...guess what that is in my class...!!

The dog on the right is my Doberbull Hondo. He's 3 in this photo and weighs 110lbs. He has zero health issues, is dog and human friendly. He is also my protection dog. He lives outside and guards my yard. He also goes everywhere with me and loves to get his neck and chest scratched by anyone. I'm no fan of pure bred animals and have had great experience with mixed breed dogs. Like anything, you have to ensure you're not getting a substandard product. As of yesterday Hondo turned 4 and weighed in at 117 lbs and is around 30 inches tall at his shoulder. He was the product of a responsible breeder and breed program.

Hondo is handsome! Hondo is the name of my Dobe's grandsire, or maybe it's Hondu. I forget.

So you know someone who is breeding APBT mixes? Do they breed fairly true to type, or is there a lot of variance?

Your Hondo sure got a lot of size!

That Hondo is a big and pretty boy! It is cool to hear that he is a friendly guy...doesn't surprise me at all though because I think that most dogs with the bad rap are being stereotyped based on particular instances which have more to do with their upbringing and care. Jax is a purebred Doberman, and my first dog (that isn't a family dog), and he would not be happy outside!...He is the epitome of a velcro Dobe, and I love it.

Sorry for the delay in responding. I don't know of any reputable breeders that are doing mixes at the moment. Even with good foundation stock it is difficult to say if there will be a lot of variance or not. Mix breeding is like the lottery, which is the biggest reason most breeders don't mix.

Dogs are like kids, a product of their parents /owners. Hondo has 3 dogs to hang with outside but he still whines when I'm not out with him.

He's a powerhouse but isn't overly muscled which I like. He also is trained well enough to move rowdy crowds then let folks come pet him once I give the command to relax.

One of my old neighbors in the city had a pit/Chihuahua mix. It was ... Odd. Smaller like a chi, but stocky and block headed like a pit. Ferocious little twirp, too! But somehow cute. I really think that is one of the absolute worst mixes I can even think of. It basically had the Chi attitude but with bully strength to back it up. He got it for his young daughter because their female bully was huge and the kid wanted a dog to walk. Needless to say, it backfired because "Boots" was insanely animal and people aggressive. I could catch him (frequent escaper) but he'd light up anyone else other than the owner.
