Hot weather shoes

Vincent's Mom

Novitiate
Hello everyone. Some of you from a while back may remember me from a few years ago as Vinnie's mom. Well it's been a while and I completely forgot my info so here I am back again as Vincent's mom:) we have been traveling the states for a few years and have had such an awesome time! My boy sure does love to adventure! I finally set up a base camp with internet so were back. I have a question for you all after a quick skim of topics I did not see an answer so...for extreme hot weather that reaches over 110 degrees what shoes do you guys recommend? Each pair I try winds up falling off his feet due to the feet being so large but ankle being so tiny. Answers appreciated!

Welcome back! It's not hot enough here to need them when we have mostly grass in the yard so I can't help you with a shoe recommendation. We do have boots for them for extreme cold but they're handmade ones sold at our local grocery store.

I bought some for Jazz this year but sadly she passed before really testing them. They did fit well and didn't shake off when she first had them on. One tip is to buy in pairs and the fronts are usually one size bigger than the rear feet. They are packed away now and I will have to check the brand later. Here's a couple of pics.

An old forum trick for dogs with tiny ankles is putting a pair of breathable toddler socks or dog socks underneath the boots. It fills up that empty space around the ankle and stops the shoes from twisting or sliding off. Hope this helps Vincent!
