This juvenile song dog (i think, cant accurately age or sex it from angle and distance)
...came trotting thru the neighborhood looking a bit lost, then anxious as I walked down the street to check which way he went...and basically to "push him" as habituation, ie hazing; "not welcome to stick around the houses here"...
Its not the first time I've seem a singleton pass thru in the day...
Its more common to see one after dark looking for outdoor cats, possum, ground squirrel or norway rats in this green belt area.
I'd guess he is a yearling pushed out to hunt while mom feeds the pups, or possibly the dad doing some daytime grocery shopping.
Its getting dry now, grass turning brown so the easy prey is gone, more work needed to eat good.
We tell our neighbors with little dogs to "keep them in the yard, under careful eyeball and in at nite."
Outdoor cats dont last long here.
