My heart breaks for Z’s owner.. nobody’s dog deserves to die like that, not in front of their owner. The fact that he resorted to shooting the dog so quickly is disturbing. Poor judgment call. Both parties are at fault but Z didn’t have to die a senseless death, that much is clear.

Update on his 2nd ultrasound: they confirmed that Vinci’s right kidney is missing. Our vet reassured me that Vinci appears healthy so there’s no immediate need for any blood work but she is going to recommend getting a blood test at his next annual check up, and every year going forward. As...

Luckily they’re not making us pay for the second ultrasound - thank goodness, it was a little under $500!

The vet suggested neutering him but we don’t want to do it unless it’s medically necessary. He’s almost 2 so we could have him get neutered.. we’re still weighing our pros and cons.

UPDATE: We just got off the phone with the vet and Vinci has BPH - benign prostatic hyperplasia aka enlarged prostate. Phew! The vet also informed us that his ultrasound only showed 1 kidney?! They think it was an error so Vinci’s scheduled for another ultrasound later this week. They shaved...

I will absolutely post an update after his ultrasound. I just hope it’s benign and nothing serious.

Vinci takes fish oil pills + glucosamine (powder) + taurine (powder) + turmeric (powder). The powders mix well in with honest kitchens dehydrated meal and I top it off with fish oil pills.
