Recommendations for Favorite Products to Cool Off?

I just got something today for our car kennel setup! The Ryobi deal was going on where you purchase two batteries and a charger and get a tool for free. Ripley has a double door crate and I plan to put the fan on one to pull air through her kennel.

I saw a ton of these at the shows last summer and it looked like they really helped.

Agree with others - the cooling coats / towels that work to cool through evaporation don't work if it's humid and a will actually turn warm and trap the heat if it's like a coat or vest. They work great out west where it's a dry heat. Fans and misting the dog are great because even though that's working by the fan evaporating the moisture, it's not trapping the heat.

Oh 100%. Would never go to a show without a fan for each crate, a water bucket and small amount of water in each crate, extra water, and an aluminet for the car!! Makes a world of a difference. We are able to crate out of our vehicles (with the back open and all windows down) even on hot days thanks to all of this.

Yup - and even when we'd go somewhere in the summer crating inside, I'd take the aluminet in case of emergency. Like if you had a flat and were on the side of the road for an hour and it's 97° - toss the aluminet over the car to mitigate that. Every little bit helps!

The aluminet and canopy live in our car, we use it that much between shows, trials, and all day club meets 😂 It makes a world of difference!

@Ddski5 Is there any particular cooling towel you liked/found effective? I tried one from Frog Toggs, but it didn’t seem to do much. I’m in SC and it’s very humid here as well, so the cooling vest isn’t an option.

Remy’s handling class is held outside, even though it’s at 7pm it’s still hot out. It does get cancelled sometimes due to the heat though. I bring water of of course, but I’m just trying to find other options to keep him cool (that would be effective in high humidity.)
No, not really. I just went on Amazon and bought the 4-pack for $20. Packed a little igloo cooler with an ice bag and kept them in there.

I entirely missed @remy's post earlier but a cooling blanket/coat can work in a location where you are stationary. Just make sure you have a cooler with ice water to put the coat in to resupply it. A wet towel for him to stand on also works great. Spray bottle with cool water to squirt cool water in his mouth and over his tongue. These are ways we keep them cool ringside!
