You can easily sit back on it to slow them down since it sits over your hips. The scarier/exhilarating part is when you start running lol! We have a leather pull tab from leerburg on her collar for when people go by. Just call her into a by-heel until people pass then release. For the most part, she only walks right now since she's young. Only let her trot when she wants to and for very short distances. Still working on our own fitness levels haha which was a huge part of getting the belt. Once we started walking a lot we realized that she would benefit from it and do good on it. It's really nice to be hands free. She gets way more of a work out too. Eventually would like to train her for commands like left and right. She already knows wait and trot, probably the most important ones for now

It's a nice entry level canicross belt. There are others out there for a prettier penny..some that sit lower and over the bum. I'm sure @Viemarangelrock knows more about the good ones!

So I had to look up canicross - running with your dog/training for sled, skijoring. If I hooked myself up to Asha and started jogging hands free, I'd be face planted and dragged in about 3 seconds!
