Potential Breeder In The US

One of my dog walking clients heard that I’ve been looking for a good european doberman breeder and so she recommended this breeder to me. We’ve been in contact almost everyday since then and so far I really like her. She has answered all of my questions and she seems really knowledgeable. She has an upcoming litter that I’m really interested in. The mother of that litter has really good lines. Her grandfather is a 2x national champion and has his IPO3, BH, and AD. The mother passed her working evaluation at 10 months and is titled in FastCat. The father of the litter is an import and has his IPO1 and BH.

Sounds like good athletic puppies in the making! Breeder has done health tests, right? Hope it works for you. It took me 6 months to finally get a puppy that fit my needs - once it finally starts happening "for real" the excitement and anticipation is something else! You really don't have to import to get some nice Euro-bred dogs, you just have to do a lot of homework.

Yes, she health tests all of the dogs in her program. That was one of the first questions I asked her. She even started telling me the article explaining the possible connection between DCM and grain free diets. I’ve already read this article but I thought it was a really good sign that she knew about it especially when DCM is a such a problem in this breed. I've also spoken to some people who have a gotten a puppy from her. My dog walking client doesn’t have direct experience with this breeder but her sister does which is why she recommended her to me. Her sister has a 1 year old male from this breeder and his mother is actually the sister to the female I mentioned above. So I an going to set up a meet and greet so I can see him in person.

I’m also researching the pedigree on both sides just to make sure because even though she sounds nice and legitimate people can lie, so I’m taking everything with a grain of salt until I finish researching the lines.

I wasn’t trying to make it a mystery. I wasn’t going to post the breeders name just yet because I know that the breeder is a member on quite a few doberman chat sites and since I am still researching her I know there is a chance that I might find negative info which I was planning on telling the people here. And I didn’t want this thread to seem like I was bashing her since she might be a member here. I was planning on researching her some more and making sure whatever information I found was accurate then I was going to make an update about her on this thread and let people know whether or not I would recommend her. I was planning on keeping everyone here in the loop and making updates but I didn’t want to unintentionally spread false info about her so I was going to keep her anonymous until I knew I had accurate information. I didn’t think it would be a problem, my bad.
