I totally disagree with the eating part of it
LOL, I've eaten rattlesnake, seriously, tastes just like chicken, but has bones like fish. It was breadcrumbed & fried & served with eggs for breakfast while camping in the mountains. I love telling everyone how we had snake & eggs for breakfast!

Really kind of cute if it wasn't so scary. But obviously she was used to people.
That's pretty close. Momma bears will kill anything that gets between her & her babies! Good thing they weren't straggling way behind or someone might not have seen them and thought it was ok to go by. Lone bears are pretty harmless, but momma bears, no way!

I know! Scared the hell outta me when I first watched it! Everyone knows not to mess with any female and her babies! And they came dang close to being right in their path. But mamma looked like might be used to all the tourists. IDK

I. Couldn't.

Forget snake and eggs

Rattlesnake fajitas baby!

The only good snake is the one on the dinner plate...

Denny’s :)
Do you want to know something funny? We haven't eaten at a Denny's in years. There is one in town and just within the past year, it got remodeled. One day we were going to stop for something to eat and we thought, okay let's try it. We had a cup of coffee cuz we were cold. It was still winter. Having a cup of coffee near dinnertime would normally be a no no for me. I figured I'd be up all night. But I wasn't.

Then we figured we'll order a hamburger. Well, let me tell you. That was the best cup of coffee and the best hamburger I've had in a long time! I couldn't believe it. Neither one of us could believe it. In our opinion, Culver's is the best fast food hamburger. But this one topped it! Believe it or not. It was thick and juicy. Not a flat pancake. It was like homemade. Like I make them! So we have been there several times since then! ;)

I can’t. It’s one of the three things I just don’t do.

That's okay. I can agree to disagree. :) Just telling you our experience, at our Dennys. It's the only thing we've eaten there though, except for some breakfast for me. :)

Actually I like snakes, they do lots of good for keeping mice down in the barn etc. However, rattlesnakes just aren't allowed on the property, and so they have to go. I've only had one on this property and he's still in the freezer - I promised I would put him to good use - head will be a skull for the bone collection, skin/hide will be tanned, and I was going to fry up the meat, but probably not at this point as it's one of those projects that kept getting put off, now the dang thing has been in the freezer for almost 4 years... :(:rolleyes:

Just wondering how you killed to keep it intact?
It was in the aisle of the barn, I pinned it down with a rake and cut the head off. I was by myself, couldn't think of any other way. Sorry, no way to say that less graphically. I really do like all wildlife and hate taking a life. When I do I always apologize and thank the critter for what good it did in this world. But, I live in a very remote place and feel like I have a right to protect my space and my animals well-being. I was even nice enough to cover the death wound with flowers before taking photos. I'll leave the photos small so only the interested can click & make it bigger. I know with some people they just can't look! Snake-phobia folks, scroll on by.

No, I figured that's probably what you did. Especially since you said the skull was intact. Not sure how else to kill something like that without a gun. Definitely a rattle on the end of that tail LOL

We have an interestingly colored bunny thats been around this year. He started off with just his head white, now the rest of his fur is white mixed with the usual grey/red coloring of a rabbit. Those that have horses, it reminds me of roan. His legs still are that bunny grey.

The number of Barn swallows around our barn seem to be more than I remember from previous years. They are just everywhere! Looking out the window I saw a bunch of them sitting on top of the barn roof. At certain times of the day, they will swarm around the sky and there has to be at least fifty of them!

Looks more like a domestic bunny? Maybe someone's escapee?
Its not, trust me. I have seen escapee domestic bunnies and they stick out like a sore thumb in how they look, act, and move. We had one we caught one year at the vet office (that was a trip watching our vet try and outjuke a bunny, lol). He doesn't have the body of a domestic bun and was originally colored like a wild rabbit. I know fur anomalies can happen in the wild. There are even piebald deer that happen in the wild! This is sorta what Im thinking with this guy.

The barn swallows love when we mow! They come out of nowhere soon as they hear that mower.
