Low water consumption

Both mine were refrigerator lights with the door closed. Lol
Now Bacall is a flood light. Bogie is a 3 way bulb, occasionally he is very bright and other times not so much.
Oji is like one of those lights you see in parking lots or on buildings. They start to come on slowly and gradually get all the way on. Or maybe not all the way. And they sometimes unexpectedly go out.

So today I left him crated for 4 hours while I went to class. He went in his crate very easily. Whined lightly for a few seconds. I ignored him got ready for clsss and left. While I was gone he had zero whining and no potty issues. I got a pet cam and was able to monitor him and it has a sound detector.

Last night was also a success as he went to bed at 9 and didn’t wake up until 2 to potty. Then went back to bed until 6 when I woke him up.

On the water subject my dobie is pushing 6 months and he still doesn’t drink water at feeding and has no excitement towards it at all I had to literally sneak and catch him drinking water. I’m guessing some just don’t drink a bunch I fill dukes bowl once a day half full and it takes him just about all day to drink that it gets changed out during the day just to keep fresh water but that’s bout it,it’s hardly ever empty. Now if he’s had a long day training or what not he drinks like he’s never had water but that’s the only time

Mine gets water in his food bowl but raw fed dogs tend not to need a lot of water unless they're exerting themselves. I really only find him requesting water after play. He definitley drank more water during the kibble days but even then we would soak his kibble.

Just going to put it out there that one of the ways of trying to avoid the potentially deadly condition called bloat is believed by many to be waiting a while after exercise before giving your dog water. I always try to let mine have his panting calm down before offering water. Of course, out in public most people see a panting dog and think he needs water pronto. Often, they'll try to offer it to him right in front of me (a major peeve of mine!!)

Important reminder! Kaiser will nudge his empty water bowl so I know he wants water but I don't give any until the panting stops. Then he gets a slurp to clear his mouth. A proper water serving doesn't come until at least 20 minutes of him being calm. If he's still amped up, I'll wait another 10 minutes to be sure.

As he gets more active he will start to drink more, I don’t think they’ll ever just be huge fountain drinkers like some breeds plus it’s not good for them, I’d be more worried if he was overly drinking all the time (just my thought tho)
