I always have to wonder if any of the same ones that fly south from here are ever seen by some of you to the south.
Aren't they cute! And that one looks like it's doing The Exorcist head turn!

Do you see what I see?
A Cooper's Hawk! Was such a delight to see up so close right out the guest bedroom window. He flew off to the tree in the backyard in front of the barn after this. Looking to snack on some little birds by the feeders. (They were nowhere in sight lol!)

Ohh, yes, a delight!
I'm always excited to see a hawk! And I know all about those empty feeders LOL I'll never forget seeing the hawk come by and I quickly looked to to see what the birds were doing and they were gone! Some were quietly hiding in the bushes! All they have to do is see his shadow and they're gone.
It's the same when a Northern Shrike comes and sits in a tree by the feeder here.
I love seeing the hawks too and one actually flew into the patio door when it was trying to nab a squirrel on the feeder. Scared the hell out of me since I was sitting right there. LOL
There's been a squirrel nest in this tree for a long time now. I see it every time we sit in our sunroom. One day I had the bright idea of taking a picture with binoculars and my cell phone. 
It actually came out pretty cool!

So weird. I thought the squirell's face was a Doberman's nose!
The deer have been coming up to graze on any bare ground they can find. This was a doe and fawn a couple weeks ago.
They had some goofy ones in GA that were always looking like Spider man clinging to walls and scaling them. I wish I could have used my camera while I was there but it wasn't allowed.
What kind of squirrels are those? We only have the little red jerks around here so I'm not familiar with a lot of them.

We have eastern gray squirrel, fox squirrel ground squirrels, all kinds of squirrels LOL Most are that buff color. Some tend to have a little reddish color to them and a lot of them are huge! There's tons of them. I can look out my office window at any given time, and see a squirrel. Of course there are lots of trees for them. And they love to drive Kali nuts!
Just 5 miles away, my sister has black squirrels. From what I understand, they are a mutation from the eastern gray squirrel. The first time I ever saw a pure black squirrel was 40 years ago in Colorado! When I saw them at my sister's I was shocked! Especially since I've never seen them here at my house. How weird that they can be 5 miles away but not here.

I think they’re just grey squirrels. When we lived in MI they had solid black squirrels and red squirrels. They were really unique.

Hubby used to work security in the shipping yards and he said the hordes of rats down there were huge and so fat their bellies were dragging on the ground by the grain ships. Real opportunists. LOL
