Solutions for non-stop Staph/Pyoderma?

Apollo has always had an issue with Staph/Pyoderma since he was a puppy at around 5 months old. He's a year old now and over the summer, it got really bad and is still bad. Whenever he is put on antibiotics for it, it clears up immediately, but the moment he gets off (literally the day after his last pill), his skin gets extremely flakey, raised lesions everywhere, and hair loss. I tried medicated shampoo as well but that eventually made his skin extremely dry from all the bathing so I stopped and went back to antibiotics. We're out of antibiotics again and this morning I took him outside and saw that his entire back was covered in giant pieces of flaked skin and scabs. If I try to brush it off, it becomes a bald spot. Help.

The key is finding the cause. Staph is an infection but what is causing the issue to start with? Has he been ruled out for food and environmental allergies? What do you currently feed?

We have already been to the vet's office for this problem many times and they keep saying it could be environmental allergies/seasonal allergies. He used to eat Purina Pro Plan up until he was around 7-8 months old and he got staph when he was eating that, now he eats Taste of the Wild (salmon formula) and he still gets it. I also give him fish oil nowadays in hopes that it'll help with the flakey skin but it hasn't that much.

So they think it might be allergies but haven't tested or treated for them? You need to get a second opinion.

And id look into a high quality limited ingredient diet with an unusual protein source just to hopefully rule out food issues. Zignature has one that is kangaroo that seems to be a good option for things like this.

But really, you need a vet who is going to work to determine the underlying cause. Repeated and long term antibiotic use is not a solution and will end up creating more issues.

Well I guess all the vets in my area all suck then...because we went to 4 different vets for this issue.....

I would also add probiotics into his diet as antibiotics kills gut flora. Someone posted in one of my groups about this stuff http://www.dinovite.com/ . Her story sounds a lot like the issues Apollo has been having. She swears by it...?
