My oldest son was helping an older lady that he has known most of his life. She lost her husband maybe a year ago and is getting older. He was there to cut her grass and do a few other things that she just can't do any longer.
It turns out this lady went to the Humane Society and adopted herself a dog because she gets lonely. My son met the dog inside and everything was fine. Dan (my son) moved a couch and vacuumed behind it and a few other things she needed done. The dog was fine the whole time.
Next Dan went out to cut the grass. He was getting the mower out of a shed, a small one so he had to back it out. Out of nowhere here comes the dog and attacks him in the calf. The dog wouldn't let go so Dan grabbed a rake and pried his mouth open. Mary was in the house and had no idea this happened. Now Dan has to find a way to get to the house for help with this dog right there. Luckily a neighbor heard a ruckus and came out.
Dan drove himself to an urgent care where he got 20 stitches in his calf. The doc left some wounds open because they were so jagged he thought some tissue might die and needed to be debrided. Well one of the bigger places he did stitch up did get infected. So now he is now antibiotics as well has to return to the doc to have it cleaned up every 3 days. They are attempting to get it to heal from the inside out.
I'm really pissed about this. Mary's homeowner's insurance is covering the bills. I feel the Humane Society should. This dog should have never been adopted out to this woman. What were they thinking? This woman is a frail 79 year old, a Yorkie maybe, but a psycho pit bull?
I can't help but just be livid this happened. My son is recovering from some rather large vet bills for Gigi. Now he's gonna miss how much work? Not to mention the pain and suffering the kid has to endure.
I think the HS is going to learn ya just don't piss off momma bear.
