Im not sure if you have to be a member to compete or not, but its probably a good idea to do it anyway. The DPCA does so much for Dobermans as we know it. Very easy to sign up.

I e-mailed them. I guess you can sign up just like any other show. Don't need to be a member.
You should try to apply too since it's a great thing. You need 2 sponsors and I'd be happy to be one for you since I know you stand for the preservation of the breed. 
Well "if" I go it could only be for the last weekend since I checked and that's the exact week Hubby has had his trip planned and he won't get back until at least that Thursday. I'm not even going to try to change anything there since he only gets the chance to do that particular trip every 5 years or so and I'm not going to mess it up for him.

I think I heard that UDC was sponsoring an IPO at DPCA nationals. If that is true we will be there for that for sure.
Hoping I'll be able to come. Really really wanna come to this one. I'm on a 22 week residency starting in August though so I won't have any control over the schedule.
If I have even a day or two only to go I would like to. Just depends on how much the flight is and I won't be bringing Luca since he won't be ready for anything at Nationals. I'm sure That will leave me room to find a cheaper hotel then the sight offers for those traveling with dogs. ----> maybe I can sweet talk someone in to transporting me from the airport to the hotel/venue so I don't have to rent a car if I get to come

I will only be able to stay a day maybe two since Watson will have to be staying home (since he can't show there and I doubt they would allow him in as a spectator), I am probably going to be there the 5th and maybe the 6th in less my plans change.

I am sooooo excited
Yes, both Berlin and Aria are Futurity nominated so they will be in the ring as well as their littermate Walter. Hope the girls don't have to battle it out in winners!
I won't know until I get my schedule hopefully on Monday. But it may not include my unit rotation which is only six weeks in advance, so I could possibly not know until September.

As we get a little closer I thought I would give everyone a schedule, in case they were wanting to go to any of it.
October 4th-11th is I believe when all of the action is.
The Regional specialty Will be 10/4, 10/5. As it sits right now Berlin will be in both, Raven probably too.
10/8-10/11 are more dog shows. I believe the 8th is futurity, Berlin & Aria will be showing in that one.
9th I believe is dogs, 10th bitches (Berlin, Aria), 11th best of breed (Raven in BOB)
Then that following sunday there is also a dog show in Lawrence (25 minutes away).
Let me know if any of you are going and I would be happy to help with hotel arrangements, transportation, whatever. Topeka may be a shit hole, but not all of it is.

If everyone is wanting to coordinate the best time, I would say the 4th, and 5th would be best. That is a weekend, so obviously better for everyone, and the regional s are just a super large doberman only show.
I have room for 1-2 people (one of those would be sleeing on a couch haha) Just one spare bedroom. If you need somewhere to stay let me know in advance so you dont end up sleeping on car parts.

Yes, the futurity is on the 8th

I would offer the two extra rooms in my house for those of you coming into town to use, but my house has been booked up for family who is coming in town for a wedding that week. Go figure, lol.
I was at the Expocentre this weekend for round two of the Capitol City Classic. I asked for a friend and the hotel on site has availability, but not at the special room rate for nationals. Those rooms booked up quickly. I am sure they have rooms available at the regular rate for those of you looking for convenience. I also offer my assistance in any way I can, be it transportation etc. I am only about 5 miles away from Matt.

I have some bad and good news. Bad News: I won't be able to make it this year after all. I was looking forward to coming and meeting everyone too. Good News: I will be posting its own thread for the good news in about a week
