We are currently going through something similar. But in our situation I know she drank stagnant water from all the rain we’ve had (oddly enough we also switched proteins within the dog food brand we use). Ours started on Thursday night last week, brought her in Monday morning and was already dehydrated- had to get IV fluids (but ours refused to eat/drink) And this is a grown dog not puppy. She got an anti-nausea shot, antibiotics and Metronidazole. We’re still not 100%. We’re slowly introducing the kibble back into the chicken and rice I’ve been cooking.
Glad you were able to get into a vet. I hope all goes well. Also you’re better off cooking chicken and rice rather than the canned food that they’ll probably try to sell you.

Vomiting and Diarrhea in a young puppy is always a concern, especially for longer than 48hours I would think. Glad you are getting your pup in. Please keep us updated! Stick to the boiled chicken and rice until you have firm stools. Then slowly introduce kibble back in.

Update - my usual vet called me and told me to bring him in. It was the receptionist who told me two weeks. So we went in and got anti nausea and anti diarrhea medicine (this was about 5 hours ago) and he hasn’t had either since. He’s had a little bit of water. Since we got home he hasn’t left his crate and doesn’t want to go out or eat anything.
He’s going back in tomorrow morning to be monitored for the day and he also took a stool sample from him to check for parvo but he said he doesn’t think that’s what it is and just wants to check.

I'm glad you're getting him back in for monitoring and I hope the test results are good.
It still could very well be the food change since some dogs just can't tolerate certain foods other dogs can. When they're young they have very sensitive tummies so it makes it difficult.

Were you able to get the bone broth?
My Princess wouldn’t eat the boiled chicken and rice (which she usually loves) I ended up getting a plain rotisserie chicken from the grocery store and gave her the white meat which she ate. The vet wasn’t overly thrilled with the rotisserie chicken - I think it has more fat- but at least she ate something. I only gave her a little at a time.

It was probably the salt content in those. They are usually tasty! because they are typically injected with a salty broth. Be careful with that as too much sodium can cause diarrhea. But I understand that at least she ate something, that is important. I hope shes starting to feel better.

Try and get the Bone Broth. You can make it also but its takes sometime to make. Right now its easier to buy it.

I just dropped Mowgli off and I actually cried having to leave him there 
but before bed last night he started to perk up and act like himself aside from still having diarrhea this morning. The vet was super pleased with how excited he was acting this morning, compared to how mopey and sick he was when he went in yesterday. I will keep you all updated when he comes home later today

Okay so, I didn’t really get any answers from the vet. We are home now and he is bothering the cats and shaking toys around so I don’t think he’s too uncomfortable. There hasn’t been any vomiting since yesterday but I was given more nausea medicine just in case.
He still has very bad diarrhea. We are still waiting on the parvo results. The vet said that he still doesn’t think parvo is likely because he hasn’t seen it in our area in a while I guess? And there’s no blood. But he said the smell of the diarrhea is what made him want to test. Even though to me the diarrhea smells exactly like the salmon Fromm food just a little... poopier.... or is that not possible if he hasn’t had any of that since Tuesday?
I am to call in tonight to let him know how Mowgli is doing and by the end of tomorrow if he still has bad poop we are going to give him an antibiotic.
Mostly the vet was happy with how Mo is acting like his upbeat self and has bright happy eyes still, so that’s a good sign right?

Sometimes the smell is foul when they eat too much or their food isn't agreeing with them. At least those are both the times I noticed major stink. Well the third was eating old chicken from a trash bin - that was the only thing that ever caused projectile diarrhea. I wonder if your Dobe just can't handle kibble? Mine barely ever had solid stool while on kibble so we moved to raw which solved all his poop issues. Just something to consider. Also, can't stress enough to put him on a good probiotic.

So when he was on Fromm Gold, he had solid poop except at night time. His after dinner poop was always like a cow patty. Plus, he was always itching and had a lot of dandruff which is what prompted the protein change that may have caused all of this. This is the first time he has had real diarrhea since I have had him.
I actually did attempt raw at first before transitioning to Fromm because I didn't have the freezer space and really can't afford the premade. Also, he was still having night time soft stools on raw. I'm planning on investing in a separate freezer when I move to a bigger home next summer so I can go back to raw because he really loved it and I think given more time to adjust to it (I only did it for his first month home) it'd be the perfect diet for him.
