Water bowl question

Do you leave your puppy’s water bowl full of water out all day or do you just present water after a meal and or outdoor play

We leave water bowl out.

we leave a water jug out but our dogs are older. When Moo was a puppy peeing machine, he was cutoff at 7p. Then 8p. Then 9p, etc.

We have a 5 gallon water jug feeder but our dogs are on a rotation so only have access to it when it is there time out. They have there own water pales in the kennels in the trailer so they always have water access at training.
When they are puppies no water available after 7:30 at night.

I used the 6:00PM rule. Out all day then take up at 6PM. If there was over exertion I refill to top then up at 6. They all had big bowls.

Access all day. When he was younger thought I’d pick the bowl up around 8pm because bedtime is 10pm and didn’t want any accidents.

I believe in giving our dogs free choice of water at all times, at all ages. That said, they sleep in a crate at night when they're pups and I don't put water in there then.

Jazz has free access to water at all times, even as a pup. I feed kibble and our weather is hot and dry so there is no such thing as drinking too much! Having said that, I did have to do multiple "pee walks" throughout the night when she was a littlie.

However when she was a puppy and in her crate at night no water after around 7 pm.

We do not...but this is something I have been wondering too. Neo will drink all the water in the world if we let him...no joke. He literally can’t get enough of it to the point where it’s embarrassing bc I think people assume we just don’t give him any.

We have learned to give him just the required amount and only at certain times of the day...and it’s always cut off 2 hours before bed.

The last time we went to the dog park if he wants trying to hump the other dog there, he was guzzling the water like he has never seen it in his life ‍‍

Added water for crate at around 8 months. Max 8 cups.

No water in bedroom at night, we baby gate the bedroom at night
