Training Tricks

With some things, I've found if we work backwards it help them catch on a little quicker.
It's amazing how well it works (teaching backwards in the chain the motion). I'd never done this - or even heard about it until I started wanting to trial Asha. Biggest learning curve was the dumbbell retrieve. Was told don't even start until you have a perfect front. Get a perfect front, then work on recall to a front, and only then start asking for a dumbbell retrieve.

Working from the end might seem a little strange but it has helped a lot with a few of Diva's tricks.

I didnt try working from the end. I started with her in the down position. The hardest part was getting her to roll over on her side since Ive never taught her that. Once she understood that part the rest was easy

The hardest part with Diva was getting her to stop rolling over completely. She's got it now and can do it with some distance between us.
Diva finished her IGT 2, so on to the next level of challenges.
