Heads up, an interesting study at the University of Wisconsin:
The Baker Lab at the University of Wisconsin-Madison is looking for spayed female Dobermans that have developed urinary incontinence (a.k.a. spay incontinence or urethral sphincter mechanism incompetence (USMI)). We are also looking for healthy spayed female Dobermans that have not developed incontinence more than 4 years after spay.
Participation involves a DNA sample (via blood or saliva) and completing a short questionnaire about their dog’s medical history. If you know of a dog that fits this criteria, please reach out to the Baker Lab at [email protected]. Dr. Lauren Baker, MS, DVM, PhD
