Staying outside

Hi y'all! Have to ask if anyone has had an experience with your Doberman or any dog that doesn't like being outside? Specifically outside by themselves?? Now that weather is finally nice where we live to spend time outside in the backyard. I leave him with plenty of toys to play with to keep him occupied and if I pop back inside he is not having it, he starts barking up a storm! and wont stop until someone is outside with him.... Thoughts please....

Yea, 😏 most Dobermans get pretty bonded with their human and prefer to be with them. I've had them bask in the sun for a while or entertain themselves for a while. But for the most part they want to do all of it with you there too. 😁

Like this girl out on the back deck.

Mom? You coming??

aww she's adorable... Yeah, didn't realize how attached they need to be.. and most definitely they ARE NOT like other breeds.. My neighbor has a Boxer and she spends a good amount of time outside by herself and is fine and just goes back inside when she's had enough of the outdoors..LoL I just figured all dogs liked being outside to explore.. clearly have a lot to learn here.. LoL

Dobermans are not outside dogs. They're actually not like any other breeds of dogs at all. They are hardwired to be with their person or people and pretty vocal about anything that makes them unhappy.
Good to know. I'm finding out most definitely not like other breeds LoL

Flint likes to spend about 20 - 30 minutes outside by himself but my yard is half an acre so there is a lot to go sniff. I usually put him outside when I shower because I take about that long. But yeah unless he has something to do, like a chew a bone or a bully stick, he's usually following me around and in my way.
