I love the music you put to it  I would be terrified to boat across in those waves!!!! I would have to stay home on the island❣️
Thanks. Wasn't that bad, winter is terrible with seas up to 20ft and freezing spray, even in a full suit if you got tossed in the water you have a maximum of about 60 seconds to live. I refuse to boat in the winter, or in the fog! Traveling in the fog was the most terrifying experience, complete whiteout, and GPS doesn't seem to work in the fog, lost in the fog with no way to know where you're going or what you'll hit, came within feet of running aground on rocks...very scary, wouldn't ever do it again. You live and learn.

It sounds like you've made the wise choice to move to the mainland in the winter then. Does the sea get ice on it during the winter too?

Boy, these female Dobes can be bossy & sassy!
Here is our 2x daily mealtime routing with Lola, apparently having a clock in her stomach. She is SO into her daily routines, e.g. Walk, Potty, Meal, Sleep, School, etc. Miss the timing on one of those and us humans hear about it promptly!

This video is not random, in fact it almost documented a disaster!

Finished up a walk with on a beautiful sunny, cool and breezy morning after front move through this morning. Neo was on harness lead entire walk and did great with only a few corrections along the way. Neo's dad decided to stop at his newly laid down turf grass to pull a few weeds when arriving home. Nothing around sighted- no dog walkers, no cars, Nada! While I was pulling last weeds, heard a faint cough from street behind us - turned around to be surprised, as was Neo. Watch video for results...

Well Neo used up one of his nine-lives today, like a cat has?
i'm the one who usually beefs about other dog walkers- talking on cell phones, multiple dogs, off-leash dogs, etc.

This is like the swiss cheese model of accident reports- all the holes lined up:
Handler distracted, lost situational awareness (SA)
Dog on long harness lead allowing more range, dangerous if they lunge.
Unexpected female jogger with small new trailing dog- what Dobermans love to check out!
Speeding traffic on street

When I come up on dogs stopped or off-leash I always yell a warning to other handler of our approach, so they can assure control is had.

Whew!

I almost had a heart attack watching that! It happened so fast. 🫣

Hate those effing drivers that speed through residential neighborhoods.
When I was a kid, neighbor kids and I, at night when parents weren't home, would sit behind a picket fence, in the dark, concealed.
Our slingshots and BB's in the ready for speeders flying by. I'm sure we got some side windows, never got caught.
We hated the cars that would speed through our neighborhood, we lived on a corner without stop signs and there were a lot of bad accidents. Anyway, we decided to teach some drivers lessons.

I had a similar experience in Denver last week. There is a beautiful paved trail that runs right along the hotel where we were staying, lots of commuters on bicycles/e-bikes. At one section, the trail goes below the 4 lane city road on the bridge above. You can either follow the trail under the bridge, or cross at the pedestrian crossing. That day (before we left to drive home), I decided to cross at the crosswalk. Got the light, Brio on a short leash, started out into the street, along comes a car flying along, ready to run the red light! I just stopped about 4 ft into the crosswalk and stared at the driver; I was pissed. He stopped, I crossed. Coming back I figured I didn't want to repeat that, so I started under the bridge on the bike path, way off to the right, Brio again on a short leash at my left. Another biker passes going the other direction, I hear a tire screech right behind me, where some dipchit on an e-bike pulled off onto the grass so he wouldn't run me and Brio down. 🙄 The bike speed limit, as it were, is 15 mph along the trail, but it was a rare few who actually didn't go well over that. Just on my walks on the trail near the hotel during our 11 day stay, I saw 2 other near-misses that could have been very bad.

Any of you who like the city can have it. I'll take my quiet mountains, thanks. I think I could handle suburbs, but I never want to live in a city again.
