Desensitizing high prey drive Lola to squirrels on walks seems to be working. So, now she's prioritizing other "threats" to us.

That's great....Amazon drivers....a HUGE threat from our windows and they are justified; because they scream at the driver as he comes up the walk; then he leaves right away! They feel they have done their job

Just sent a big, overdue Dobe video dump to my siblings and thought this video perfectly illustrated the dynamics between our two, Neo & Lola, Lola is younger but female and queen of the couch. Doberman owners might recognize Lola's weasel strategies? Neo, thankfully, is tolerant of Lola's antics and so easily distracted! Here's a video from 2 yrs. ago you all should enjoy...

I always give the puppies permission to 'go for it' when we refill the food bin. Rubie, who eats purely to stay alive, will partake. Moose, who's a chow hound through and through, cannot be convinced it's not some sort of trick.

After this, I even shooed Rubie away and tried to give him more permission. No dice. Clever boy, though, he did get a bunch of treats, instead

Edit to add: it has nothing to do with Rubie being in there. She has never guarded her food and if she's nose deep in a cup of doggie ice cream, he will happy shove her face out of the way

Made our routine daily jaunt out front to collect mail with Lola. We came across the ever present squirrel collecting acorns. Like in previous video above, high prey-drive Lola did great, in again showing restraint around the critter! She learned that watching is much better than lurching & chasing...
