Random Pet Photo of the Day - 2026

Well one of Annie's favorite toys has finally bit the Dust. The Rope through the ball came out a few months ago. She still played with that ball for a long time until it looks like this.20260816_141419.webp
She would grab it and shake it just like she would if she had it by the rope. But it wasn't the same. I kept telling my husband, we have to find another one. And I couldn't find one just like it! I don't remember even where I bought it. I've seen new ones but the Rope is different. And I don't like it. It looks stringy. Like it would come apart easily. It's not like the old one. Kind of a boat rope. We went to a couple of places and still couldn't find it. But my husband picked this one up and said, how about this?

The rope seemed a bit more sturdy then the ones I saw with the ball so we took it. We both knew she would like it. But I said if she swings that thing around and loses it, it'll knock down a plant or break a window. 🤪It's pretty heavy. But she loves it! Of course that's all we care about. 🥰

We live on a remote island, only accessible by boat or float plane. There are no roads, cars, ect. It's just wilderness. We built inside the treeline, and originally only had a mooring buoy for the first 6 years, have since added a dock. We have vehicles in town, and a business and shop, and we are currently building a place in town for a winter home as the winter is extremely rough and the winter seas are extremely dangerous to traverse.View attachment 162740
The only picture I have of our house from the water.

You can see our mooring buoy here, we would have to beach on these rocks to load and unload.

We built our pier over the top of those rocks

This happens a lot in winter, making things extremely more difficult 😳

We do get the wildlife channel here, so that's the upside

Rollo got his first plane ride and boat ride at 9 weeks old.
I cannot FATHOM seeing whales outside my front door!

That is a way cool looking squirrel though. Ours look like/are like little red tree rats. LOL
Abert's squirrel. They are mostly in ponderosa pine forests b/c that's most of what they eat, is ponderosa pine seeds. We have them around here, but I've never had one run at me! They are BIG squirrels too, bigger than your average grey squirrel.

They are our main squirrel in my neck of the woods. The one that ran at me was across the way on a neighbors property. The ones that are on my property just act like normal squirrels. 😅 But they have the dogs to deal with here. They ARE the prettiest of all the squirrel family I think.
