What kinda biz, out of curiousity?
I am semi tempted to Schedule C something out of home to write off Bonnie but first I have to make money at it..,
What happened to all the "rest" and "relaxation" in retirement, hey Bonnie?

J/k.

Gotta go- She's now looking at me...reminding me its time to get off my deadA$$ and go for our morning hike/training...

I believe so! She is part of the family so she’s going where we go and she fits right in. A few vacations lined up too!

I thought of you today, we went to the U of D to walk around first. A couple passed us and you could tell they were a little scared of Pepper. Pepper was in a heel and just walking with us. They passed us later on and stopped to ask me questions about Pepper and I let them pet her too. They said their neighbor has a Doberman and it is very aggressive no one can go near it. Wanted to know how she was behavior wise and was it nature or nurture. Felt good spreading the Doberman knowledge and showing off my girl because she’s such a well behaved citizen.
It does feel good…you can tell they are looking, they are looking for an “in” to ask questions. I’ve gotten kinda forward now and just ask them if they have any questions on Dobermans- they jump to the occasion. Most folks are very curious and want the opportunity to touch the scary beast.

Hiking today, took a break on a "setter" (downed tree, just the right hight to sit on), both dogs milling around and a sudden movement (prolly squirrel) from a distance and they both looked. Lucky shot for sure, with their body language the same and matching collars. IMG_8038.webp

Yes, like crazy. 🙋‍♀️ Already living in dirt/rocks for yard, drought adding insult to injury- but when we go to a town park? holy moly, the joy of rolling in grass is unreal...
These dirty girls lol 😂 🤷‍♀️🤦‍♀️
Today we passed a huge mulch pile on our walk, Pepper dove right into it. I said - oh my no no because it’s rude and also because she was covered in mulch and dirt 🤦‍♀️
She went head first like an arrow into it caught me off guard and it was really funny.
And I wonder why my allergies have been SO bad this year… 🤔

So my chicken adventures continue, I decided to order a dozen more shipped eggs - half barred rock and half speckled Sussex. Out of the dozen I had to toss five that weren’t developing (this is a possibility with shipped eggs). Out of the seven, only two hatched - both barred rocks. One of the babies had severely curled in toes, to where he was wobbling around on his “knuckles”. The other ones feet were slightly so, but they have straightened out. I’ve had to make a tape splint to try and correct the curly toe, I thought it had fixed itself last night but I woke up this am for them to start curling again. All I can say is I’m getting pretty good at taping up chicken feet. Poor lil man.

He looks happy with those! Probably a better subject for the chicken thread but my Grandma often had a hen sitting eggs and she would roll them all daily. Wonder if shipped eggs need the same?

He hates when I put them on but settles down once he’s walking around. Your grandma probably rolled them because during incubation to avoid them sticking to one side of the egg they need to be periodically rotated, although a broody hen should already do that on her own. Shipped eggs have much lower rates because they get so jostled around during shipment the future embryo just doesn’t recover from it and commence into development.
