Random Pet Photo of the Day - 2025

I'm watching Annie out the window and realized Cheyenne is watching her too!20250417_164321.webp

The three of us on the couch in the sunroom. I thought Annie was kind of backwards 🤔 but it looked cute enough for a picture. I had to reach my arms up way way high just trying to get us all in 😆

Asha was after a rodent in a fallen dead tree today on our hike and backed into a cholla cactus while swinging her rear around to get her head down in the hole at a different angle. Cholla is the worst of the nasty cactus, she's never hit it like this before, but then again she had her mind on something else... I picked these things out best I could, each of those little pieces is held in by a barb, some broke off and are still embedded. So far she hasn't gone on a licking/chewing spree, but I'll be watching for it. Ugh.

Some of those look like the little sand burrs that we used to have. They were awful! We worked for years to get them off our property. Doing a lot of hand digging too. When they stuck you, they stuck good! The end had a little barb on it that we always felt had some kind of a toxic something or other on it because it would hurt even after you took it out. I always had tweezers on me. When we first got Buddy we still had a ton of them. I couldn't walk him 10 ft without getting stuck. I told my husband I need a path around our fence line so I can walk him safely. So we went by hand and just dug out as many as we could find in that path. Now we don't have any. Well, every once in awhile we might find one popped up. But nothing like the nightmare we had. So I know how bad those can be!
