Random Pet Photo of the Day - 2025

Squirrels have become a torture for Asha. I can make her settle in the house but only by sending her to her place where she can't see out the window. I could *probably* get her to sit like Freyja is here, if I was next to her, but she would be squealing and barking at the top of her lungs. Sometimes I let her out the door to chase one and she's squealing/barking/spinning while I'm trying to open the door. That photo of Freyja is great.
That sounds like Remy, but with rabbits. They are his weakness 🤣

Every bit of that falls under the 'Security' column of expenses on my taxes.

20250508_150418.webpOur son came over yesterday afternoon and brought his youngest boy. Annie loves all the kids but she really enjoys this little one. He was out playing with Annie and I gave him the Chuck it ball. Annie loves playing fetch with that. They really had a lot of fun and she was well exercised! 😉

I love summer! 😁

And he's sitting like Olive there. LOL

Side note, but did you have a problem with ear posting when his ears are down?

These two had to go for their 3 year rabies...I see a vet an hour away, because they are the only ones who offer thimersol free rabies (no mercury in it)
Afterward we went to a nice park not far from this vet :woot2: which they enjoyed after the long car ride, and stab from the vet;)

Had a pair like that once where the nubs were different (exactly like yours in the picture).

While I prefer (for no good reason) the shorter docks there is an upside to having one be a bit longer when you have a pair. Makes ID a lot easier in many circumstances when otherwise it might be difficult to quickly tell them apart...

Either way, Fine looking dogs you have there! :)

Took Chunk to the Vet today for her annual stuff + 3yr rabies.

Both girls were absolutely perfectly behaved the entire time even in the lobby with 4 other tiny dogs there... :)

(I did tell them before we entered that there were NO 'free samples' inside so not to even think about it...)

Guessing their scale is still uncalibrated (or just garbage) as they said Dystopia has got down to 77lbs (almost 10lbs less than where she was a year ago). I think I would be able to see a 10lb reduction but can't see it all. Girl still looks like she needs to lose at LEAST 10lbs of food purse junk on her belly. :(

Need to figure out where my scale is and start using it again cause most Vet scales around me are garbage.

Example - The Vet I use is 20 minutes down the road. We pass right by 4 other Vet clinics on (or very near) that same road that have scales in the lobby area for people to use.

Last year after weighing the girls at our regular Vet during their annual stuff and not believing the numbers were accurate I decided to stop at a few of the other Vet clinics on the way home and double check using their scales. I ended up stopping at all 4 of the different Vet clinics that we passed on the way home. Got different numbers from every single scale we used during that short trip home. (5 to 10lb differences between numbers and not 'tiny' differences) Once scale gave 3 different numbers (a couple of lbs each way) weight the one girl 3 times in a row AND 'zeroing' the scale before taking each reading.

Would not be hard at all to test one of those Vet scales over a range of weights and see if it was screwy or not and could be done in a few minutes with nothing more than a small collection of empty milk jugs. If a gallon of water in a milk jug weighs 8.34lbs than 2 jugs should weigh 16.68 and 3 jugs should weigh 25.02lbs etc.

There is no way that this girl lost 2 gallon milk jugs between her last weight check and today. Nope...

Guessing (cause I have no good scales near me!) that Dystopia has a good 3 to 4 gallon milk jugs on Agatha. :)

New girl did awesome everywhere we went today out in public. Tractor Supply first for some doggie kibble and chatting with friends I have that work there, then the Lowes browsing in the garden / planting sections, then at the Vet clinic while big girl was getting her exam / testing stuff done. Always very calm and responding almost perfectly to simple commands.

Agatha has been nothing short of a blessing since coming here. I got stupid lucky to find this girl...
