Spent all evening outside yesterday grilling and then had a fire. It was a gorgeous day.

You guys that apologize for things in the background of functioning homes are silly! I cant even really see the cardboard until you said something.
even then, it looks like someone that cares about their yard doing yard work!

Your grass is to live for. (I use to say "to die for", but realized it didn't make sense!) Down here in the midst of a drought, we have dirt, rocks & weeds and not enough water use watering planted grass. Although I've brought up some native grasses and it's doing well, it is just to help hold the soil together, won't ever be lush no matter what. Not complaining, I chose to live in the high desert. We have zero fleas and heart worms are rare.

We did mess with it a bit today. We'll get some river rock, edging, more plants, and all that jazz and hopefully make it look fancy! Kinda bleeding into garden pictures here so I made sure Rubie was in one!
@Ravenbird I LOVE our green (we'll, it's green for now; probably won't be come August/September as we're not grass waterers) but... The plants you can have outside year round in the dessert... Cacti and succulents and all sorts of stuff!!

I just sent her out to chase a squirrel ( Shhh...don't say that word too loud! 
) and now she's on patrol.
It's a game played carefully since squirrels are about her size! I always give them a head start (unless we go out and I never saw them!) And I won't leave her out, there like she is now, alone. I watch HER like she watches THEM.
