That's the pacific coast trail but the Continental Divide Trail also goes from Mexico to Canada and one of the trail heads is just 2 miles from my house. LOTS of hikers this time of year going through, all going north. The CDT trail crosses the dirt road that takes me home. I've never seen a thru rider on the trail.
Do they allow thru riders? I can't recall if she's mentioned doing the Continental Divide Trail before ...
Wow I can't even imagine driving that far let alone riding...
We have the three way divide a few miles from here too.
Yes, but I think there are places where they can't go (because of terrain) and have to go around or something. And some places where they can't camp, so plans have to fit so you don't end up in one of those areas at the end of the day. It has been done by several riders, I'd have to look to find stories. It's an amazing feat no matter which trail someone chooses!
