This particular Kong toy has lasted us for almost three years. Jasper can chew this toy for a good hour at a time and it has no punctures or cracks. He goes into chewy zone.

Like right now its 12:30am. I got home about an hour ago from work. We are just unwinding and Jasper is completely content chewing on this poor toy.

I love toys like that! Gives me some peace when she's being needy and I need her to self entertain. And then they randomly get super jaws and destroy it 😂

Bad us. We are moving so the back is full of things and no room for a kennel but Ripley really needed to go with us to get some mental and physical stimulation, so you do what you gotta do to be able to juggle her needs into the day. Went into the store and came back to her like this. "Get in b*tches, let's ride!" 😆

So... I don't know what started it but it seems Kali doesn't like to be locked in her crate at night anymore. She is 11 years old and has slept in her crate at night all this time. She is right next to my bed so not far from us. I can't remember if this started when we got back from our Kentucky trip or if it started before. It makes sense that it would be after she spent four days in bed with my husband and I in Kentucky. :tap: But one night after we had gone to bed I heard her scratching at the crate! She's never done that! I thought maybe she had to go outside so we went outside and she peed. As soon as I put her back, it happens again and she went back outside and pooped. Okay good for the night, right? Scratch scratch scratch. I finally yelled at her which I rarely do! And she was quiet for the night. But then this happened a couple more nights. I finally just left her crate door open when we went to bed.

She was all over the place. Sometimes I'd wake up and she's in her crate...other times she's in her bed, which I brought in from the kitchen and put next to my bed. Other times she was in bed in between us. I have a feeling she like that place the best . :confused-alt: I finally decided that the crate is done! But then I was taking her bed from bedroom to the kitchen, back to the to the bedroom... blah. :wacky: I just bought another one. She loves these so much! Right now she's in the new one.

Albert was posing for a photo when a little red headed ham had to get in on it. ;)

He didn't ham her shot. LOL

I set up my new camera today and our old sweet boy had to be the first one I took a photo of. It was obviously inside and without a flash but so far, so good.

This happened to Paige too. She freaks out! Sometimes she was ok but most of the time no. She was doing these pathetic whines, whimpers, drooling and yipping. Never seen that sort of behavior from her! And then she would poop in there even after going outside. I had enough... She gets free run of the house now and all is well. This started probably about a year ago. I fought and tried to retrain her to the kennel but then she randomly started freaking out about squeaky toys too, something she used to love! I looked into it and apparently older dogs can develop senior anxiety related to canine cognitive dysfunction. Things they used to know so well they suddenly become anxious about. She's 13 so her comfort and being happy is the most important. She doesn't bother anything and sleeps most of the day, with some wandering around the house so leaving her loose in the kitchen is working best for us. I wonder if something similar is happening with Kali?

That's very interesting! Especially since there was one time when I had let her out and was carrying her back so that I can put her back in the crate and I thought I felt her trembling! It surprised me and I really had to think about that. Was she really trembling? Was she afraid? Of what? The only thing I could think of was maybe a fly 🪰 or maybe even a spider🕷 But I didn't see anything there. She has a blanket over her crate halfway so you'd think it would feel secure. But I guess what you suggest sounds plausible. And that's why I decided that it would be fine just to leave her out. There's really no reason to close her in her crate anymore anyway. Except I really don't particularly like sleeping with a dog. I'm just so aware of her that I don't seem to sleep soundly. I think I'm just going to have to get used to it.🙃🤣

Terrible photo, but he is absolutely content here after some chuck it time. The cold weather definitely keeps him going takes forever to tire him out.

A couple hours later I saw him laying on the couch and I just had to interrupt him for a cuddle. However his eyes got wide and this lasted all of a minute until he hopped off and grabbed a tug toy.

I have this one as well and mine show zero interest so it sits in their toy box collecting dust. 🤦🏼‍♀️

I gave all my Kongs and other rubber-type toys and treat dispensers to the local thrift store that benefits the animal shelter. Asha wouldn't touch them, even with food in them. :scratch:

I'm not sure what these expressions even meant. LOL

@JanS

I don’t think I have ever seen a dog like that.

Looks like a strong cross of Doberman and Wolf.

If that picture is somewhat correct in size….I figure Freyja is about the size of Phoebe and Freyja has gotten almost bigger than Ragnar. Then that means that other dog in the picture is a monster.
