Instead of being GRATEFUL that they have a well kept up and NICE, clean property next door to them - They want to whine about dumb stuff.

I would have a field day on a neighbor like that in short order!



A few months back I was taking the girls out front to go pee early one morning and apparently a 'new' temporary resident that was staying at the house next door was already outside and I 'guess' walking down to the street to check their mailbox. Once she saw the LEASHED girls come out she stopped dead in her tracks in the middle of their front yard and started screaming at the top of her lungs.

My girls never even looked in her direction until the damn idiot started screaming and even then they just sort of stopped and looked at her like she was retarded. Never left my property, never barked at the damn woman or anything...

I watched that idiot standing there screaming for about 30 seconds or so before loudly asking her 'Could you please shut the F up? It is not even 7:00am and we DO have noise ordinances here...'. She shut up and took her ass back inside their house.

Thankfully, she did not stay there very long before moving elsewhere.

My younger years I was doing as I was brought up - to be polite and not say everything I thought if it would offend someone. But the older I get, well, I try hard (like you are with your neighbor) but once pushed a little too hard, I just have to say exactly what I think. We call it intolerance for cheap sh!t. Isn't that the truth? I had to bite my tongue way too much on the last job with so many of the people thinking they're "entitled" and can do anything they want. I did get into it with one pilot who kept pushing and pushing insisting he could get through without a required document, then I called my supervisor and they got into it, but he would not back down, but he couldn't get on the plane either since we were there to enforce the rules.
Now that I'm retired, if someone pushes it even a little too far, they will hear what I really think.

I thank goodness that 99% of the time I am working by myself (my girls is always with me but NO peoples most of the time).

I have no tolerance for stupidity and that narrows down my list of people I am willing to work with if I absolutely 'need' help for whatever reason.

That is so bad. Some people are clueless when it comes to being good to the earth and the animals and bugs in it. I bet she doesn't have any lightning bugs in her yard.

This is why I moved where I don't have any neighbors. I had never lived in a subdivision until 2008 (I think?) I learned I NEVER will again.
I think the final deciding factor was when a neighbors kids shot my dog! That taught me that people are much more tolerable from afar.

We called and... It's not even remotely free but "deeply discounted" for only $80 per service (multiple visits required). I'm really not into it. We might do it for this summer to appease her. I will be sure to f*cking tell her it's definitely not free and if she's got the balls to say "it's only $80" then I'll ask her if we should have them bill her for our lawn, then. We would treat only the front, not the back in a million years. Still not great.

She would hate to see my yard! We purposely planted a mix of clover (2-3 different kinds), alfalfa, and flax seed over 2.5 acres. It makes for great forage for our chickens, helps bring nitrogen back into the soil after decades of this land being a corn field, and best of all provides food for bees and other pollinators which in turn help my garden and fruit trees (and the neighbors fruit trees). When you cut it...it looks like normal grass. Maybe not super dense and thick like kentucky bluegrass lawns but, thats not great for the environment to get a lawn like that anyways. The flowers come back between cuttings and I let it go for a little longer for the pollinators. The chicken's foraging area is allowed to grow until we move them to fresh ground every few weeks. Is there an HOA there? Some people really need to find new hobbies, lol.

Here it is after it's been cut. From the road, you can't tell it's clover. I need to overseed it closer to the house (foreground) but I'm really happy with it.

If you heavily seed, it won't. I tend to not cut it as often when its the hottest and driest part of summer so the leaves of the clover protects the ground from drying out. Typically you'd want to do the same with regular grass, not cut it, so to not scorch it. Not a problem when its dry anyways since the growth is slowed substantially.

That's hubbies method too. On dry years I see some lawns around that are scalped and they look brown and terrible.

We use cover crops on our property also. We also have a ton of wildflowers that pop up in different areas and I just leave them to do their thing.
I LOVE it! Our property is just buzzing with all kinds of wildlife. From flying to crawling, it's a nice ecosystem that takes care of itself.
