I think it looks good. I'm young enough to only barely remember the original so that may help. I agree with others that the dobes in the show, depending on how much screen time they get may bring unwanted popularity to the breed. If I remember correctly the original aired on the 80's and dobes were quite popular then. Coincidence? Hummmm.....

In today's climate, I imagine the planning dialogue went something like: Can we have Magnum be a woman? At least a Tranny? Does he have to be white? Shoot, well, he is definitely not having as much chest hair as the original.

Speaking of hair: Does the new Magnum have a mustache? It could be "ironic" you know.

Speaking of canceled shows and CBS, there was actually a new show that I thought I could tolerate: "Kevin Can Wait" with Kevin James. They brought in Leah Remini, his wife from "King of Queens" I loved that show, and this one took on that same great humor. The show had as a cast member the legendary MMA fighter Bas Ruuten. Kevin has been a long time fan of MMA.

Boom. Canceled after two seasons. At least that's what I read somewhere.

The original Higgins, it seems to me, was before his time. His catch phrase? "OH. MY. GOD!" Little did he know he could have saved so much time and effort by simply saying "O. M. G!"

Yes, Magnum's first name was Thomas, and that's what Higgins called him.

Ya I can see that this show would make Dobermans go up in popularity. But look at the bright side. The ppl that would watch this show would be fans of the original. One can ASSUME they'd be old enough to think through such a purchase. But then, you know what they say about assuming - it makes an ASS out of U and ME.
