Little Lord Vader

Ahh, glad all went well! Can't wait to see some pics!...now that I'm not posting and going nuts, I love to look at precious little posted pups! Does he have a little Shriners' hat cup on top of his head?

Oh, I didn't mean the cone (of course Jax's jackass vet had one on him); I meant the little upside down styro-foam cup thing...hell I don't know...too late to delete my question. I just wanted to see a pic...def not making suggestions on posting...look at my kid's ears...I know NOTHING.

Oh, I know :) I was referring to the fact that @Beerswimmer said little Vader is in a cone right now.

Yes, he's in a cone. No cup or shriner hat. The surgeon put 3 stitches in his ears to hold them together over his head, they will be removed in 3 days. He'll be in a cone for 10 days until the other stitches come out, then he'll be posted.

Here are some pics. Sooooo many blurry ones!

Wow. Different approach! But like I said, if it works then great!

Man, I remember when I started asking about Jax's ears; I heard (read) responses like "If it works for you," or "that's interesting," and I pretty much felt like I was abusing my dog because I went with what the vet suggested/did. Then again, I'm a thin-skinned thing! A cone is really not unheard of, but you might end up wanting to get rid of it if it aggravates him or pushes the ears forward/inward.
I'm glad he's home and feels great (actually I would have liked for Jax to have been a bit sleepy after his!!
)

I havent seen it before so its genuinely interesting! I totally get why a vet would use a cone after cropping but the stitches holding the ears together is new to me. I bet they keep his ears from rubbing on the cone and aggravating him since it was just done.

Such a handsome guy! I've seen the stitched over the head method a couple times in the past from members here and it seems to work well. Della's were glued over her head and I guess that was a real mess to get off.

I don't recall seeing it before, and agree with what someone else said. That's interesting.

Not knocking it at all, heck what do I know? Lol.

I've seen it before. There was a pup out at Purina that had her ears stitched up like that. I asked the breeder about it. She said it was her first time trying it. She read about it and the theory is it is supposed to be less painful than just dangling, also exposes the stitched area to air for healing. She said she always had trouble keeping cups on and the ears were always dragging through food so being up keeps them cleaner. Whatever works as far as I'm concerned. There is always more than one way to achieve a goal.

Aww, I've been waiting for and update on him. So cute and I'm glad things are going well with the ears.
