Grumbling at the motel

I have to say this is so much better than explosive barking. This past weekend was the best motel behavior we've had so far. Asha only barked a few times and then shut it off and just grumbled. I can't help but laugh at how her whisker pads poof up. This is her reaction to some car doors slamming and voices outside.

My favorite part is the growling while licking. Funny!

But yes, great job on controlling the barking!!

In fairness, I too grumble at people slamming car doors. I really do.

hahahaha she's like, "I'll shush but I WON'T LIKE IT!"

Do the dogs take cues from each other? If ones gets wound up by something, does it wind up the other one?

Rubie can be losing her sh*t and Moo just looks unimpressed and like, "here we go again." Moo does the teeniest, tiniest of almost inaudible grumbles and Rubie assumes we're under siege.

Reckless (I'm assuming??) looks otherwise unbothered

The tight mouth after the first bark is such a funny look. Kaiser does that too. They act so pissed off. I love the low grumbling though. So impressive.

I'm surprised how quiet our dogs are in a hotel considering we live out in the woods where it's very quiet and in a hotel it seems like the dogs in every other room are either little yappers or big barkers.

Reckless (I'm assuming??) looks otherwise unbothered

Exactly why I panned over. Reckless is fast asleep. However, at home, if there's explosive barking, Reckless will join in, but she has a really good off switch. If Reckless starts it, Asha is there instantly, pushes her aside and says "I'll take care of it". Such a be-acth!

I love the low grumbling though. So impressive.

Me too. Probably why I can't completely shut it down. Asha knows she impresses me. But she is learning self control, I'd have to look at the video again but I think she was collarless. I can't tell you how bad it use to be.

I personally know how far y'all have come dealing with the same thing myself! Good girl Asha, and Mom. It takes a lot of work on your part too to work on it!
