Brinks is not a back sleeper but definitely a back layer! He does it when he is being silly and playful, or wanting a belly rub. He also chews on his toys this way and holds them with his paws.

Guess what? We have some roll over success. I couldn't teach him to do it on command. But in the last few weeks he has started to open his legs a bit on his own! It's always when I'm alone in the kitchen and standing still. He'll lay by my feet if I'm near the grey mat which his boundary to the kitchen as he's not allowed in there. Of course he just moves the mat to get a bit closer and technically it's just his head in there so I can't correct him The first two times he did this he would stop his roll over if I directly looked at him. Definitely could not get a pic. This one is from last night. I already had the phone in my hand so this was the best I could get before he got up.
All I have to do to Bacall when she is sleeping on her side is to touch the inside of her thigh and she will roll on her back for me to pet her tummy and inside of her thighs. Little hussy.
Today I was cleaning up after my hb - I was gone for a week and you'd think he could manage on his own - and Kaiser laid down behind me while I was at the kitchen counter. He was on his side so I thought hm, maybe he will roll over. I knew he was tired from his morning walk so he was very calm. I prepared for the roll over by squatting near him. He started to open his legs and as I looked at his legs to reach out, he put up his paw to stop me, so I took the paw into my hand and held it...
I used my other hand, and TOTALLY GAVE HIS BELLY A RUB DOWN!
He more than allowed it, he stayed fairly still and only moved his head, he moved it to the side and would close his eyes a bit as if he was really enjoying it! It must have lasted a whole 15-20 seconds. I think that means he missed me
