Doberman weight gain..

Hi ! We adopted a rescued dob and we’ve been really worried since he’s just so skinny ! You can see his ribs and other several bones, we would like to know what do you recommend for him since our budget is not really that high, but we want to make sure he’s healthy. Also, our vet told us he had some “depression” signs and that maybe affecting his weight and other areas of his body, please HELP ! Any advice will be great

Welcome! The thing about weight loss & regaining weight is knowing why they are thin in the first place. Did the rescue have any background history? Did the vet check for parasites/worms/disease? Depression signs? I'm not sure what you mean by that. Is he old or is he a puppy? Does he WANT to eat or is he refusing food?

So how to go about getting him back to a healthy weight has a lot to do with the overall picture. If he's not sick or diseased, just feed him a good quality diet - no matter what his age, All Life Stages food is usually best... start with a little over the amount suggested on the packaging. Don't free feed all he wants, two or three feedings a day and increase slowly to make sure the food agrees with him.

Yes, pictures would be helpful!

I would suggest feeding the recommended amount of food by your vet, but also suggest getting him Dyne. It is a Liquid High Calorie Supplement for Dogs: PETAG Dyne Vanilla Flavored Liquid High Calorie Supplement for Dogs, 16-oz bottle - Chewy.com

My dobie puppy is the same way but this has been helping him immensely
