Doberman Walking Group

That's amazing! My vet only had 2 other Doberman clients, and they were owned by one person. The Labrador Retriever is #1 around here in Maine. Other popular breeds are German Shorthaired Pointers, German Shepherds, Golden Retrievers, Pomeranians, and Chihuahuas.
I used to say that the official dog of Tucson was the Chow mix.

A particularly timely surprise a bit ago. We were leaving the dog park and a woman was walking a cropped and docked Doberman toward the dog park. Pretty nice looking. I had a hungry daughter with me (I carry her in an "Ergo" carrier on my person at the dog park for her safety) so I had to get going. Also, Oji growled at it when they met so they might not have been good playmates.

So, we are in the last stages of organising another dobe walk this coming Saturday.
We will have a new boy joining us. His name is Bruce and many many years ago I went to school with his owner, Kyhm.

If I remember rightly he's approx 11-12 months old.

Plus, it looks like Natalie will be joining us with Priya @ Rudi :)

I'll try to get as many pics as possible.

They are scarce here in Metro Detroit too!!
I finally saw another Dobie the other day...I stopped them to chat as they walked by my house...it was an adult BLUE male. Come to find out they did not own him, they found him wandering in the street (had been seen out for a few days) and were taking him back to his owners home. They got the info from the City from his tags. He was pretty thin IMO, and I was surprised that the owners had not called the city to report him missing...hope all went well for that boy. He was quite sweet.

The Doberman population is apparently increasing in London! :) I used to see 1 red girl at the dog park but haven't seen her in eons. Instead, there are 2 new little pups (one of which was inspired by Luna) and 3 older ones as well. A regular at the dog park already had a pup (Spaniel?) but he always asked questions about Luna and said he wanted a Dobe and within a few months he had a beautiful red female pup. We met another young pup recently, a black male, who will be doing Schutzhund. He came from a breeder in the southern US and the contract actually requires that he compete in Schutzhund / IPO. Can't wait to watch him as he grows. There are also 2 young male Dobes who moved to town recently. The youngest is black and around a year old and the other when is just over 2 I think. They love to play with Luna, especially the younger one. The owner almost got into a fist fight with a GSD owner who was peed on by one of his boys and was apparently not impressed. The Dobe guy threatened to call the cops if the GSD dude didn't back off. There is another black male I've been seeing fairly regularly with a military crop too.

I'm loving that Luna isn't the only Dobe at the park anymore. Maybe now that there are more it will help with the assclowns that occasionally appear at the park that are terrified that Luna will savage their dog just based on her looks.

Holy cats!! That is in incredible increase in the number of Dobes in your vicinity!

So, a guy's Dobe pup peed on some other guys' leg and a fight almost ensued? Oji is a risk for doing that, and has done it.

Well, tomorrow we all meet up. Fingers crossed for good weather.

We will be joined with a Great Dane this time, too. He recently lost his dober sister :(
Apparently, he's a big soppy boy so I hope to smooch all over him.

Soooo looking forward to it. Eek!! :D

So tomorrow afternoon we will be meeting up once again for a dobie walk.
Fingers crossed that the weather holds out for us.

Hoping for a better turnout this time but nonetheless we will enjoy our woodland walk.

I'll do my best to take plenty of pics to share with you all :)

I'm actually going to start taking Kaizer to a pack walk a trainer friend puts on. Not dobe specific, though. Just a general mix, lots of bullies. It's geared towards reactive dogs so it should be rather interesting. I'm mostly curious to see if he can get a better handle on Kaizers reactivity than I can. He's a damn good trainer so I don't think it can hurt to try at this point.

Can't wait to see pics!

I've been invited to many general breed pack walks put on by a trainer too but it's always later in the afternoon and it's about an hour drive, so I haven't made any of them to date.

Well, what a turnout! NOT!!
So many people were up for it then didn't bother to turn up or gave their apologies at the last minute.
So we will call it the Luna & Kobi show! Lol Kobi plus one. Deary me!

The lady that organised the walk was supposed to bring Woody, the gorgeous boy above in the pic. She turned up with no dog (apartly it's her sisters!) so god only knows?! Anyhoo, pics as promised...

The parting kiss :p

A few quick videos of the pair...

Piss poor turnout but we made the most of it and the sun was shining:)

Well that's too bad so many were no shows but it looks like everyone had a great time anyway.

It is a shame! Nevermind. Fun was had by all.
I couldn't leave work till 4pm and for some, especially the ones that travel down from further afield it was just too late.
We are going to try again in 3 weeks, earlier on a Saturday afternoon. Let's see how this one turns out?!
It was the first time for Luna on a dobie walk so really it was good to ease her in slow and steady, not so overwhelming. She was a gentle little girl, only 7 months old and the pair got on great.
