Looks more like some kind of BoaTimber rattlesnake?



When I first saw it I thought it was a copperhead which is why it is not a clear shot. I had to zoom in. After we got back I looked closer and it's just a watersnake.Timber rattlesnake?
Several other species of snakes will do this--ratsnakes and hognose snakes, some water snakes.Ya, it was fuzzy and almost looking like it just shed, so I was going by the triangular head, typical pit viper givesway.
Interrsting factoid- the local gopher snakes defence is its mimicry of rattlesnake markings, inc the ability to flatten its head. Some are observed to rapidly vibrate tail against vegetation to simulate the warning rattle...
