Critters and wildlife in your area - post your pics

@GennyB That is SO COOOOOOL! You're living my dream!

We fully decided yesterday that we'd take an impromptu camping trip this weekend (weather is looking stunning and our May just has stuff going on). I picked up groceries like I do every Friday morning but backed my car into the driveway instead of pulling into the garage so I can load it up with all our shiz easier. Let Moose out (he just loves riding along for errands!), get him inside, grab all the groceries, bring them in. Head back out to close the trunk and my neighbors across the street were in their drive way and holler "COYOTE!"

There he was, just trotting down the sidewalk right toward me lol I think both my appearance and my neighbors yelling spooked him and he took off.

Day before yesterday went to check on trail cameras and switch out SD cards. This one is the furthest from the house, down on another level. Luckily Oskar has a good recall, and 'leave it'. The bears were at this stock pond, I've a video from the camera that shows the sow taking off, then Oskar following her. Luckily he came right back to me.
One sow has 2 older cubs, which is the one Oskar went after, all cinnamon color, the other sow is REALLY black, and her, older, cub is cinnamon color. There's also a big boar that shows up, but only have photos/videos of him in the evening and night. Glad the cubs were not little babies, or may have had a problem, though I ALWAYS take my Winchester .44 with me, and a .357 sidearm

Are those the same as the black bears we have around here in a different color? I think in all the time I've lived here (all my life) I've only seen one brown one. I'm not scared of them but you're right, if they have cubs it's a different story.

Yup, all black bears. They can range from Blond, black to cinnamon brown

Wow! What spectacular shots! Where roughly is this? Bountiful predator diversity- I was about to ask if brown bear/griz which would lead me to say it looks like MT or WY?

But since all black bears, then could be Appalachia all the way to the NE too, if black bears only, Ami right?

PS: yes this is where a "bulletproof" (pun intended) recall is required, and a big bullet sidearm makes a lot of sense too...

Northern northern Calif, about 2 hours south of Oregon border and about 2 hours west of Nevada border

Okay, I am laughing at the idea of a dobie playing w/ a bunny head. I can just imagine her tossing it all around and pouncing on it again. 🤣
That's just what Annie was doing the other day! 🤭 I don't have pictures because I didn't want to take a picture of that! 🤢 it was a baby rabbit. Not real tiny but certainly not an adult. I don't know if she killed it or if she found it dead. I didn't see any nests around. But I could tell by the way she was staring at it and kind of pouncing with her two front feet that she had something. When I went to look she threw it in the air! 😂 I told her to leave it and we left the area. Which is really right off the house. I didn't give it much thought till the next day I saw her throw it in the air again! Of course she would go find it again. What was I thinking? I'm like, enough! I picked it up with my manure fork and threw it on top of the burn pile, which is over my head! LOL no way she can get it. I mean, I felt sorry for the little fellow but I had to laugh when I saw her throw it high in the air. 🤣
