The Gekkering sounds are ones I make to imitate the coon cries at night. Lol
I use that sound to get my dogs ears to perk up for a picture until they run off to locate the coon.

They are fast and precise little hunters!!
I was sitting at the table right by the side door when I saw my little Wren fly and land onto the deck. He was so close to the door that I couldn't see him. When I moved I slowly for a better look, I saw this! 
I thought, Oh No! But I never heard him hit the window!
I never want to scare a bird that hits the window because I hope it will recover, given some time. So I just watched him for a moment and he looked up, straightened out and promptly flew to the nearest shepherds hook!! I couldn't believe it! He wasn't hurt at all! What the heck was he doing??
Butterflies are having a good time with all our flowers!

Maybe he saw his reflection and was challenging it??
We had this little guy show up at our butterfly bushes! Not sure why the video is so blurry but it's a hummingbird moth!
Maybe too hot? Our birds do that on really hot days except it's usually on the deck rail.
Very cool! I haven't seen one for a few years but they're always so cool to have.
This is something we definitely don't see in our area. LOL
I think that's the same thing I saw in the vegetable garden several years ago. I put a video here somewhere and it's hysterical because I got close and he flew into me, making me scream and laugh like a little girl!

Oh, he scared the crap out of us at first - I'd never seen one and though it was something with a stinger! Then we got a closer look and it was super cool!
We had dinner on the patio last night when I noticed my cousin was distracted. He was watching a cardinal watch us. He tried to get a couple of pics but his phone was zoomed in too much to get anything clear.

Everyday I watch that wren in the house I posted earlier. He or she is still going in there! One time I saw food in her mouth. I finally remembered to look it up to see how many Broods they have for a year and it says it's only two. I'm surprised because you would think she be done by now. Or maybe it's a different wren. But they are here all the time, singing, going in and out of that house and they are just delightful!

LOL we were by our sons house last weekend and he was out there with a propane torch killing flies! Just carrying it around and when he'd see one, he push the button, flame would shoot out and the fly would die. LOL almost better than a flyswatter!

This was around midnight, last night. How do you keep them out of your yard? Should I go buy all the urine at Wannamakers to spray around the yard?!

I don't mean to laugh but you'd be amazed at the things you'd never know were there without the cameras. That is about the last thing I'd want our dogs to get tangled with (I'd take a porcupine first any day) but I can see signs that they've been in our yard during the night with the little holes they dig. Someone hit one on the road this morning between the time I went to work and when I went home for my split and wow was the smell strong.
Wow! I find it so interesting how much wildlife you are encountering up there! Like Jan was saying, you wouldn't even know it was there if you didn't have the cameras. But still, living in a neighborhood versus out here in the wilderness LOL you sure get your fill! I haven't actually seen a skunk in years. Not since Buddy first got sprayed about 10 years ago now. We have smelled them! But never seen one up close and personal. Especially one knocking at my front door LOL!
And skunk versus porcupine? I'd take a skunk any day! At least that you can it wash away, sometimes pretty quickly if you've got The Right Stuff. A porcupine hurts like hell and sometimes you even have to go to the vet. Much more involved and painful. I don't want either one, but I'd take the skunk over the porcupine.
Our drought has certainly curtailed the bugs in our Area. But, man, the butterflies are in abundance! I can't believe how many I've been seeing. Especially in my vegetable garden with the marigolds. When I go in there to water everything goes aflutter LOL but they are on almost every flower we own. Big butterflies. Small butterflies. Beautifully colored butterflies. They are just everywhere.
While so many of the insects are practically non-existent in this drought, the surprising thing lately has been the huge honking horse flies! Within just the last 3 days, suddenly they are appearing around dusk or a little before. I hate those damn things! Mama Bear comes out big time and I am on them with every ounce of my anger and swatting power! My horses know that I am coming out to help as I run to them! I follow the fly around the horse as he's trying to get away from me but trying to land on them. It's probably comical to watch as I circle the horse, following the fly, sometimes swatting and missing. But give me half a chance by sitting still for two seconds, and I smack them good and then roll them around under my palm to make sure they're dead. And when they fall to the ground I am stomping on them several times, smooshing them into the ground, with every swear word coming out of my mouth. Cuz I hate those damn things!!

The horses are swishing their tails as fast as I can, sometimes running around the Corral, bucking, as a horsefly tries to land smack dab in the middle of their back where they know they cannot get them. There's been times when I look out there and there is one sitting right on their back. And once they make their cut into their skin I think they are either resigned to the fact that they can't get them off or maybe they don't even feel it anymore after the initial cut. (And it's a cut, not a bite! Check out their mouths sometime!
) Because I see them standing out there with that damn thing on their back and it just kills me to see it! It's like they are resigned to the fact that he's there and there's nothing they can do about it. 
Last night one followed us into the barn again!! That rarely happens. I had killed two outside on the horses and then I brought them inside. Then I see Stilts shaking his head and whole body and I knew something was in the stall with him!
I went in and Got him! MF!!!!!
Maybe its the time of year for them because I posted this video back in September of 2015. This is just what's happening now.

Wow that's interesting since they're almost done around here. Usually June and July are the bad months but by now they're getting way better.
