Canidae dry food ?

    If you’re raw feeding the taurine is found in raw meat. High quality, animal sourced protein is advised - heart and thigh meat especially.
    As for kibble, I believe the current thinking is that the food wasn't deficient in taurine, but the legumes in the food were preventing the take-up of taurine.
    I think sardines are a good source, also.
    I would only supplement taurine if my dog was deficient (found through testing)

    I'm assuming the taurine is in the amino's found in the sardines. I havent looked that hard at the amino profile of the sardines, but they're obviously there. I give Bruno sardines and hardboiled eggs once a week. Between the two he should get a decent amount of natural vitamins and minerals. His shiny coat is the result....

    I feed him the sardines or egg in his morning feed once a week.

    Oh I see you were referring to diet related DCM, not the genetic form that dobies get.
