Bumps on chin?

It’s been a while since my last post. Naomi has bumps on her chin that seem to come and go.
Any suggestions. We thought we would see if there’s something we should be doing before taking her to the vet.

Looks like chin acne which is pretty common! Normally I would recommend chlorhexidine wipes, but I’m not sure if they can be used on open/raw spots. Does anyone know the answer to that?

For severe cases the vet may prescribe antibiotics and/or a prescription strength topical treatment. Not sure you would need that though.

I had a female in the past whose chin did that; and I switched to pyrex bowls instead of stainless, and they went away. Some say that it is from their chin being wet after eating and drinking...could be just 'young' acne, but switching to glass helped mine.

Thank you all for your replies. She has a stainless steel water bowl and a slow feeder (plastic bowl) -which she has chewed on a bit, making it a little rough. But she also likes to get her chin down in the soil. She does have allergies as her eyes produce mucus. We’re going to do as suggested and wipe her down after meals and playing outside. We’ll see if that helps.

I’m going to say it’s puppy acne. Kaiser had it too. Wiping the mouth after eating will help. Someone suggested that eating from a raised bowl causes it because that part of the chin ends up touching the food particularly when the bowl is full. Since I was paranoid about removing the feeding table, I just opted to clean his chin. I also used a chlorhexidine cleaner and it’s amazing stuff. I did use it on open sores. Look for Hibiscrub or Hibitane. You must dilute it though, so do read the instructions before use. Very versatile as we also used it for foot soaks when Kaiser had some irritation between his paws.
