Bogie’s Long Journey

Bogie was diagnosed with Lymphoma about 4wks ago from an aspirate biopsy sent to IDEXX labs.

Suspect Lymphoma and requested a biopsy of the node. We removed 3 submandibular nodes and sent them in.
5 Pathologists reviewed the results and said it was a difficult case to diagnose and all came to a decision that it is possibly Lymphoid Hyperplasia instead of Lymphoma.
The drawback to this diagnosis is he had been on pred at the time of node removal. This will skew results.

I took him to an oncologist and integrative veterinarian and we consulted with Dr. Erin Bennick and one other oncologist.
We will be doing another surgery in 3 wks to give the pred time to be out of his system so the biopsy will be clean.

He had a CT and Ultrasound that did not show any metastasis. I then took him to Miami to have an MRI done.
Results from that also do not show metastasis.

His appetite is great, his energy level was low for him but still he is very active. He is happy but a bit more needy, wanting to be by my side 24/7.
Which in this breed is totally normal. Lol
He is getting Essiac tea with each meal and is getting goat’s milk daily.

Now we wait for 3wks with giving the herbal supplements in the interim.
This is absolutely agonizing for us. I am trying to keep my spirits up and continue to do things both dogs enjoy so they remain engaged and active.

My heart is breaking and I would like you all to send positive healing vibes, prayers for it not to be lymphoma. He is my heart and with him only 4yrs. he should not have to suffer through this.

I feel like Bogie has the best medical team possible working on his case.

Oh, no! I'm so sorry to hear this it does sound like he's got some great people on his side though.

I give both the twins a full body exam everyday and noticed an enlarged node, then started feeling all his nodes and they were enlarged. I immediately did a needle aspirate, prepped slide and sent it off the next morning.
I thought his reduced activity level was heat related. No one else noticed his activity level was reduced except me because I know them so well and am always with hands on them.
I have been called too observant over the years by many but it was valuable in this case.

With all the love and fun activities you give Bogie, he will get through this. I know we always freak out over our Dobes, but I agree with you that he's too young for Lymphoma. Is there any possibility an infected tooth could be causing this just given the location under the jaw...lymphoid hyperplasia seems to be infection based, but what infection would impact that area other than dental? As you know, Bogie will worry if you're worried, and that picture sure does look like he's keeping a side eye on you, so try your best to keep your spirits up. Sending good vibes to you and Bogie How is Bacall handling this situation?

@Kaiser2016 His teeth are perfect. Unfortunately all his lymph nodes bilaterally are enlarged all the way to the femoral and popliteal nodes.
His liver enzymes were on the high side of normal and I put him on Denamarin for liver support.
It is a very difficult and confusing case for the Vets and pathologists evaluating his blood work, urinalysis and biopsies.

Hopefully the next node removal will reveal more defining diagnosis and we can start a treatment regimen.
Determining if it’s B cell or T cell will be revealing. Most that have T Cell Lymphoma live between 1-2mo. B Cell with integrative treatments can go into remission for 12-14mo.

I am praying it’s some rare benign lymphoma or a true lymphoid Hyperplasia that would be treatable with full recovery.
We have so many adventures together that I want them to enjoy.

Bacall is always sniffing his nodes, much to his annoyance. Lol

Oh gosh Wow he is so young to already have something like this pop up! I lost a dog as a young age, worst loss I dealt with in my life. I will pray for your boy. Do your best not to dwell on worst case scenarios. I know its easier said than done.

(I happen to be convinced) there are invisible bio-electric energy fields that sustain our physical bodies, nurtures the cells, keeps the brain synapses firing, our hearts beating and generally contributes to the growth and life of the cells in all organic life.

It is being researched and explored but hasn't gained (full) traction in main stream medicine (yet). There are people who can actually SEE these fields but keep quiet about it because it is not openly accepted that such things are possible.
These bio energetic fields obviously play an important role in the entire microbiome process. Health AND illness.

The fields are (supposedly) also very intricately connected to our thoughts and feelings, as well as fields of various frequencies that connect us with each other at all times. Such as if you are in a very loving state emotion- or in an angry state- it can be felt by another even when the loving or angry person has his/her back turned to us. You enter a room and immediately feel "the Vibe". (tiny example)

I just want to put it "out there" knowing there are others who are into the same things. Happened to read some extremely interesting books by a Russian bio-healer years ago. In short: If we are angry/severly upset with someone, or even hating them, those negative energies fire right back at us - and our beloved pets (or human children) absorb these energies because of how intimately connected they are with our personal energy fields.

There are numerous examples of real healing having taken place, when the "main" (pet) parent was able to pray for and in their hearts forgive whomever they were resenting. It is not necessary to have the "forgiveness object" present. Only in thought and heart.
This is kind of scary at the same time, because many of us, more or less permanently, have someone in our life whom we'd rather have fall off the surface of the planet.
Everything is of course complicated and one shouldn't of course presume that it is "our fault" if our pets fall ill. Everyone understands life is much more complex.

I call the fields higher vibrations. I have always been told I am empathic and I think that is why I avoid crowds. I pick up too easily on others energies and vibrations both good and bad. It exhausts me after a while and will make me anxious.
