My puppy Blackie is now 5 months old and i know its kind of far away from now but when its his birthday if i wrap something up for him will he try to eat the paper can you post some videos of your pups opening presents. And also i have seen some of you guys with pictures of you giving your dog McDonalds inst that really bad for them i know its a one day thing but will they poop a lot and what do you order for them
thanks

For Archer's birthday I wrapped his gifts and he opened them without issue. I sat right next to him as he opened them in case he tried to swallow the paper. Never had a problem, he just grabbed one end and ripped the paper off.

Here's the link to Archer's birthday thread if you want to see photos. You can see the one pic where the tissue lay ripped open next to his gift.

I made Luca a very limited ingredient cake with organic all natural peanut butter. His bday was yesterday so the thread is still recent. I posted the recepie there if your interested. Luca LOVED it.

I'd rather give him something on the healthier home made side vs. McDonalds. Plus he has kidney issues and all so I'm super picky about what he gets.

Our male has a very sensitive system so I'd never give him McDonalds. Instead we pick up a can of a really great dog food and give that to them on special occasions. I like to do the cans of Merrick as they have real meat and treat our dogs really well. I've opened cans of that stuff and been tempted to eat it myself! As for the paper, some dogs can figure it out and others don't. Just as with anything, you shouldn't leave your dog unattended with it if you are concerned.

I would not do McDonalds, it might give him the runs or make him sick. Too high in fat and gross stuff. For our dog's birthday we buy them or make them a new collar if they need it along with a new tag if the old one is warn out. I also go to the butcher in the grocery and get a beef bone (I like the round ones with the marrow) and do not cook it - it must be raw! I also take them to the pet store to pick out a new bag of treats and a new toy of their choice. As my one dog approaches his 14th birthday I will be spending most of that money on an orthopedic bed for him. And I will also make him his favorite peanut butter flavored huge dog cookie cut into the shape of a bone with some peanut butter on it :) When my MIL is here she cooks him eggs for breakfast! Yes he's a spoiled boy, but at 14 why not?? You could really get creative and have some fellow friends over for some fun :)

Please don't feed your dog that swill from the McD's.We all want to do something good for our dogs not poison them with that sorry excuse for food.
The way I see it Dobe's like 3 things best(mine does any way)food, walks, and being as close to you as they can with interaction.
How about a good morning or afternoon walk, get some presents to open with toys inside.Bbq him a nice filet or prime rib, cooked rare.Play some ball in the yard, hang out with the dog.Maybe another walk? That's probably about as close to doggy heaven as a dog gets on earth.Maybe add a round of chase the squirrel and an encounter with a strange bitch?Perfect young bachelor dog day:)

I would go buy him a nice treat like a Natural Balance sausage or some natural fresh food at the pet store instead of McDonalds. My dogs are spoiled and love french fries but that is all they get from McD's. Sometimes they each get one chicken nugget but thats all.
