How old is your boy? I've had two male Dobermans for 10 and 13 years and never had that happen in my house. That's awful! I agree about the belly band but that also seems like it could be trained out. If it's been going on for a very long time it's going to be a very long time to train that out too. As for eating the couch, my goodness! I would be gating him off of that area or something. It's not something you should have to put up with.
