I was just seeking out helpful opinions on calcium to phosphorus ratios. I understand that this is actually important to know and feed the correct ratio and bad ratios can cause issues especially in developing dogs.
Mainly chiming in out of curiosity. I posted my dog for like 35 days and he was done but he also can hold his ears down if he wants. When posting longer is the main reason so their ears are erect at all times ? His ears turned out nicely but his crop isn’t quite as long either.
My Doberman lives on a ranch with horses, cattle, chickens, and my wife’s pet goats. The horses and cows he learned to pay them no attention through repetitive training and I never tried teaching him herding my dad has a couple border collies for that. The goats on the other hand he is very...
Dogs are very interesting in making choices my wife and I both have totally different relationships with our Doberman. He totally prefers her over me generally speaking but that’s not to say we don’t have a relationship. My dog and I have a love and respect relationship due to the fact I train...
I agree taking every precaution possible and hopefully it never comes down to that. And it was devastating for our breeder the sire to my dog was 10 but he had just received a clean bill of health from the vet the month before. It’s just the world today unfortunately.
I honestly think this idea is good due to my Doberman his father actually got killed from poison which is extremely unfortunate for the breeder we got our dog from. It’s honestly just sick the people that live in this world. Luckily where I live the only time my dogs are out and about they are...
I know this may or may not be ideal but I have found some suggestions that imply raw diets are better for dogs with allergens and raw diets are very low carb which also helps keep yeast growth to a minimum? Also thank you for the suggestions I will definitely look into them.
This post isn’t about my Doberman but I have a few other dogs that live with my dobe. The last eight months I have had hell curing reoccurring ear infections in my basset hound I adopted him from the shelter when he was 7 so I have no knowledge of his previous years and he is 10 now. But we have...
I fed victor hi pro plus in the past and had little to no problems with it. If all possible call your local feed stores for pricing I was getting hi pro plus 40lbs for 36.99 compared 50$ on chewy. I would recommend it compared to most of the foods out there that aren’t grainfree victor has...
I know this has probably been discussed before on here but if your feeding sardines packed in water or frozen ones when you can find them does fish oil still need to be supplemented or is 3-4 cans of sardines a week enough ?
I know that when I posted my pup that the way I was instructed by my vet was to use tightly rolled paper towel and then to help use less tape on the outside of the ear once you ve taped the paper towel together flip the tape inside out so you can actually stick the inside of his ears to the...
Awesome I ordered it yesterday since the food I was feeding has barley and beet pulp in it which was brought to my attention as potential dcm links. I’m glad to hear that you have had good results with it and 542/kcal per cup will definitely help make the bag last a while.
When you feed raw do you absolutely not cook it at all? I’ve never fed raw so I’m not exactly sure how it works. My brother in law is a food sales representative so I can order meat from him although it will be in bulk I can get it at wholesale price.
From what I gather your almost out of options for example 4health performance has barley and beet pulp victor hi pro plus has beet pulp. In other words it almost seems making your own food or feeding raw is just about the only option just add in vitamins and minerals
