Great pics!

This was the bottom portion of a little waterfall fountain that we had. It was really cute with a girl and a boy and a dog. We hadn't used it for years because the wind that we get out here will always blow out the water from the waterfall and the bottom would soon be empty. Burning out the pump. One day a couple of weeks ago when it was so freaking hot out here I thought why not put it out front for some of the wildlife? Just the bottom. Not the fountain. We're out there watering some of the stuff in front anyway so we can keep it filled. We have a bird bath right here by the side of the house that is the favorite spot for the birds. The squirrels don't make it back here as often. There's a big dog that sits by the window that kind of keeps them at Bay. 😉

But I thought having this up front they would get some use out of it. The squirrels and the birds.

One day I was in my office and I saw all the birds! It was great! I was very happy that they were using it!

And then yesterday Annie was barking her head off at something. When I went to go look, it was a squirrel. I was almost ready to open the front door and let her have some fun  when I saw him head for the water. Even with her barking and me standing in the window it didn't deter him from taking a drink. So I was glad!

Look what popped out of the woods. Fingers crossed he just does a 180 and doesn’t return.
They are fairly new residents to us. Been showing up maybe the last decade or so. Not one I want to see get real comfy because they are a real pain.
Hey Texas, come get your critters! We don't really like them!

There's been drama over the last two days. A wedgetailed eagle has been trying to get a wallaby that has a deformed front leg. This wallaby has two good back legs so isn't an easy target and it's been using Clancys yard as a good place to dodge around so there's been low level flying and a lot of scrambling going on. Clancy has been riveted on the goings on but not barking. The first photo was yesterday and a bit far away but shows those powerful feet.IMG_6691x2.webp

Then this morning it stayed parked in a tree watching from a lot closerIMG_6696x2.webp
Ever been looked REALLY looked at by a big bird of prey?IMG_6704x2.webp

Finally cooled off enough to go to our favorite inland legit off leash dog park..its not big, but its got several trails in different habitat: southern riparian woodlad, coast live oak woodland, so lots of creatures...

These guys are distinctive but shy and seem to have a sixth sense...as soon as you look at them thru iphone they dodge around tree:
So lemme see if I can make this iohone app work: (while my little black devil dog pesters me to get off the bench get going...finally cool enoigh to go for a walk!

Hmmm. Nope the xenforo software is not allowing iphone video- but you can hear the call on Merlin Bird app-

Ok here is a far telephoto 25x shot
