Potty training

Okay guys… I have an 8 month old blue dobie. He is intact. He has been doing so good with potty training and everything else in between. Just last night I put him in the kitchen due to me not having his kennel. He was acting like he was gonna throw up in my bed so I put him in the kitchen and watched him. He did good for a bit that I watched him. After a few hours of being in the kitchen. He had peed and pooped in the kitchen. I have not changed anything in his diet. He is on a schedule for feeding and everything. I feel defeated when this happens. Does anyone think he did it because he was upset that I put him in the kitchen? Or just because he had the space to do so.

Probably unlikely he did it to upset you.

Does this happen often (pottying inside)?

Typically, if everything else is on a schedule, their potty habits will be, as well; did he pee and poop outside like he normally does?

What is solid or did it resemble a cow patty? Soft might mean he was stressed or not feeling well.

Does he demonstrate anxiety when he's in a different room? Pacing, panting, whining?

Was he in the kitchen overnight or just for a few hours?

When he does go outside, is it in a fenced yard or do you take him out on a leash? Ultimately, do you observe if he's gone potty?

He may have been stressed, depending on the situation, but it's hard to say without some more detail. If you've had weather and he just rushed outside and came back in without doing his normal potty routine, perhaps he just really had to go. I have seen my male dog simultaneously poop and pee and it's usually because he 'forgot' to poop when he as last given the chance (boys are so gross) so that was the more urgent move, I suppose.

He has not potties inside in a WHILE. While I’m at my apartment I walk him in a leash. And we get in a good bit of time when we walk. Last night he was really into there a few hours. He was in bed with me till about 1 this morning. I woke up @4:30 because of the smell. From time to time I separate him from me and my kiddo when we are eating and he will come back and fourth from the door way. He has been left in the kitchen over night and had no issue before. He did his normal outside potty routine as well.

As mentioned, it could be because he was upset about something or just not feeling good. Sometimes even not having their crate they are familiar with can be enough to trigger it stress.
